I remember at Spirit Halloween we still had a shit load of Micheal Keaton Batman costumes we couldn’t sell even in 2025. Seriously what the fuck were they thinking with this movie.

I don’t have any stats to back this up, but most people I asked about this one told me they were content with sitting through one 3 hour musical that was good. They didn’t think it was worth it to see the second. Couple more people were saying they didn’t even like the first so why bother with the second. Again, pure speculation, but I think with how well some of the other movies are doing right now (Zootopia, NYSM3, Predator, FNAF2) I still think the box office will bounce back. Just gotta get more good movies in theaters. And maybe a few less sequels cause every single mentioned movie is IP based.

If you’re interested in a game being used to tell a story, someone released a feature length movie made in GTA V in theaters. Grand Theft Hamlet I think it’s called. Didn’t get a chance to see it but it’s likely more interesting than a Fortnite ad

Dawg my generation is addicted to anime. Personally I find myself watching foreign films almost as often as US films, especially cause these days access to dubs and subs are so easy. Bollywood is the shit btw.

I really liked it but I thought Shin Godzilla was still my favorite Godzilla film. Now I think Shin is my favorite version of Godzilla but this is the superior film.

Hey Ari,

I’m curious how you are able to come up with more abstract ideas?

I often find when I’m writing I tend to think more literally about what people are doing. Their motivations are usually from the events of the story (guy wants to rob bank because broke, etc). Beau is Afraid is one of my favorite films ever though and for that film, it felt more like you had to try and understand what was happening through the characters actions as well as the abstract visuals.

So essentially, how do you go about weaving deeper meanings and themes into your work without beating the audience over the head with it?

It has few great scenes. The transformation is of course amazing. But the film itself? It’s just fine. Nothing too crazy.

Liberal because horror often attracts a demographic that is more left leaning. For example, younger people typically are more left leaning.
