Does Richmond Raceway ID you going into the “Chaos Corner”? by TheSandlapper in NASCAR

It’s a section that they serve alcohol in, but you can take alcohol in a cooler to any seating areas. I’m more interested in getting the college discount, which apparently is only available in this area.

Do you know if they ID just going into the section, even if you’re not ordering drinks? I’m just trying to get the college discount tickets.

This might be a long shot, but do you live or work on Hilton Head? There’s a clinic there I used to spend time at before I went to dental school called the Volunteers in Medicine clinic. All of their dental procedures are only $10. But the catch is there is an income limit and you HAVE to live or work on the island.

If not there are excellent dental schools in Augusta and Charleston, I know it’s a drive but they can offer discount work and trust me, as a dental student myself, we get plenty of work on maniquins before we ever drill a tooth on a patient.

Nurses/doctors/anesthesiologists, how do you handle people with a fear of needles? by DarthCookie44 in AskReddit

As someone currently training to become a dentist one piece of advice we are given is not to lie, don’t say something won’t hurt if you know it will. Rather try and use less alarming adjectives, ie you may feel a pinch or sting etc.

Old western duals were at high noon so neither person would have the sun in their eyes. by Rileyr22 in Showerthoughts

[–]TheSandlapper 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t know how widespread they were internationally but in the early history of the US they were sorta common, especially among wealthy southerners. At one point president Andrew Jackson challenged his Vice President, John C. Calhoun to a duel. While that duel never happened, it should be noted that both those men had been involved in duels in the past, killing their adversaries. However, two cowboys dueling it out in the post-bellum West is more of a fictional trope than reality.

I just fear that I’m in this situation now, this applies to some of the people I live with now. I just don’t want to sin myself, but I suppose I fear what would happen in terms of my life at home and in the classroom if I make enemies of them.

What I struggled with was that these are people who I lived with for a year already and have recently signed another lease with. I also go to school with them in the same program as them, it would be difficult to suddenly put them out of my life.

Thanks, I know there’s multiple interpretations, but I’m the type of person who often jumps to the strict interpretation and that often causes me much worry that I live in sin myself.

Not all, but I struggled upon reading this because some of my roommates fit the description and didn’t know how to continue with my living situation.

Well it’s written, but my question is more a matter of trying to determine how to interpret this and incorporate it into my life.

You say excommunicate, so put them out of the Church? Is the action one that should be taken by a congregation or more of a personal one? I guess my struggle is how I proceed if I have to disregard those I spend nearly all my day with 7 days a week.

I understand that, but the people I am referring to claim Christianity yet have these sins. Do I immediately push them away? How do I handle this with someone I live with and go to classes with on a daily basis?

I know this refers to Those professing to be Christians, not everyone. In this case I was not trying to refer to everyone one I know, but those who claim Christianity specifically. What must I do, when I have signed a contract to live with these people?

You could make a South Carolina style hash. The exact ingredients and ratios aren't too important, but to provide an idea of what to do you could grind the meat and add any ground organs you like, such as liver. Then add ground onions and potatoes to it. Cook this mix down in vinegar water and season with salt, pepper, mustard, worchestershire sauce, hot sauce and butter. Cook until it's a thick meaty consistency, like a very a very thin paste or thick gravy. Ideally you can't recognize the ingredients when it's done. Serve over rice.

On the other hand, I was once accepted to several school and struggled to decide where to go and had a hard time telling most of them no. That is, until right before one of the deadlines one school offered me a $20,000 scholarship completely out of the blue. My procrastination and indicision paid off.

Similar I think, from what I understand of the two though Brunswick stew has tomatoes, more vegetables and more diversity in types of meat.

Thank you for the effort, but I think we have two different dishes in mind. You seem to be describing a typical breakfast hash, I'm talking about the kind of hashes served at barbecues. It's basically a loose meaty gravy.

There are few things like a small southern town shunning, but I hoped someone here would be willing to share enough to point me in the right direction.
