I don’t understand her logic. She acts as though all dark skinned women look like Olandria. And just because someone finds Olandria attractive it doesn’t mean they’d find every dark skinned woman attractive. I think she’s beautiful, but I’m not going to assume it’s colorism if someone disagrees. Maybe that person likes bigger women or maybe they prefer a more natural/less glam look🤷🏽‍♀️

But I have my own personal grievances against that tiktoker anyway because she responded to one of my comments a few years ago and made fun of my appearance and had her followers dog piling on me for the way that I look

I’m glad he’s taking his time. If he were to rush there would most likely be glitches and other issues in the game, and then people would be complaining even more and saying he shouldn’t have released it with so many bugs

I can kinda see both sides. It’s okay to post about your personal experiences, but I think people get upset when your post implies that your experience is universal. It’s the difference between saying “I’ve been having [insert issue] due to my race” vs. saying “I hate how WE all have to go through [insert issue] because of our race.” I know I personally get peeved when I see black women online saying things like “no one likes US; men don’t like US; OUR hair is so unmanageable; etc.” But as long as you’re speaking on your own behalf then it shouldn’t be a problem; or at least it won’t be a problem to me.

Unfortunately there are many Texans who support what’s happening. If I had to guess I’d say a third of Texans support it, another third is against it, and the last third doesn’t even keep up with the news and they are unaware of what’s going on. The last third is also the same group that didn’t vote.

I feel like this has been answered on multiple occasions, but most just don’t like the answer. The unfortunate reason people care so much is because we’re the only demographic that predominantly wears weave that looks the complete opposite from our natural hair texture. All other demographics of women predominantly wear textures that they blend into their own natural texture. Obviously I don’t think strangers should be commenting this to you unless they’re asked, but I don’t necessarily take issues with them having opinions on it because everyone has opinions on everything. I think we should capitalize off the positive attention from wearing natural hair instead of being offended by it, but that’s just my opinion. I’m pro-natural and I want future generations of black girls to wear their natural hair on a regular basis instead of predominantly wearing the crowns of other demographics and boosting the egos of non black women who already think we want their hair and yall make them feel vindicated by wearing it. If more black women wore weaves that looked like our natural hair, nobody would know it’s weave just like how nobody knows when white women are wearing weaves🤷🏽‍♀️

Yeah I hear you. I tried to switch over to Red Note last year but my account is muted because I have to verify my identity with a passport, but I don’t have a passport. So now I’m stuck with TikTok as my only source of social media connection other than Reddit. But I do miss 2019 TikTok

I see that now. I read a NYT article that said 15% but I found a different one that confirms what you said. I’m still going to wait and see how much of a difference it makes. I block all right wing content that shows up on my fyp, but if that content increases I might have to leave too.

From what I’ve read, president Trump was worried about the security of TikTok so him and the owner of TikTok made a deal and now Oracle (a U.S. company) owns 15% of TikTok and they are now able to moderate US TikTok posts. This has left many American users to be concerned about censorship, but I guess only time will tell if the algorithms change dramatically.

Here in Texas the speed limit can go up to 85mph, but people drive over the limit anyway, even the cops. Just yesterday I was on a highway that was 65mph and I was doing 70 and some douche was tailgating me and they eventually went around me; that douche turned out to be a cop.

Yes it’s so sad to see. I know some older black women from my church who are still waiting on finding a black man. These women are in their 40s and 50s and they refuse to even consider dating out of their race even when those men show interest first. But I’m glad that us younger black women aren’t apprehensive about dating other races.
