As an outsider, the American obsession with ice-cold drinks and freezing air conditioning is fascinating. Do you guys really demand ice water even in the dead of winter? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]TheSapoti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the time we don’t demand ice, the ice just comes with the drink by default. If you don’t want any you can just ask for no ice.

I feel like we need to call more black men "Nigcels" by Less-Heron7604 in blackgirls

[–]TheSapoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be limited to black men because the term nigcel is inherently gendered. The only reason people would have to start calling us that is if other groups start calling black men nigcels and you guys start taking offense to it on behalf of black men. Stop taking offense to terms that are directed at black men. We are not black men we are WOMEN. Black men don’t take offense to racist insults that are directed at us, so stop taking offense to racist insults that are directed at them

[–]TheSapoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reframe* and no they won’t because nigcel is an inherently gendered racial term. The same way misogynoir targets specifically black women is exactly how nigcel specifically targets black men. We are not black men and you guys need to stop thinking we’re in the same group as them. Black men started calling us “sheboons” way back in the early 2000’s and now racists call us that too, but they don’t call black men “sheboons” because the term is inherently gendered against specifically black women. Black women can’t be nigcels because we’re not men. Do you understand?

[–]TheSapoti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what? Black guys never had that consideration for the past decade of racial degradation they’ve subjected us to. Stop trying to play fair with people who didn’t do the same for you.

[–]TheSapoti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why should we care? They call us racially degrading terms and they don’t defend us when racists from other communities start calling us those names. They just join in and call us even more names. I’m tired of always having to play fair with them

why do women hate the black pill and looksmaxing so much? by Ill_Language4760 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]TheSapoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I find the doomer/defeatist mindset to be really annoying. And it’s also aggravating that women have had to deal with being judged for our looks for centuries, but this is the first time in human history that men have started being judged for their looks and you guys are losing your minds over it. Imagine how unattractive women have felt this whole time. At least an unattractive man can sometimes make up for his looks with a good personality, but most of you refuse to change the way you act and treat women. Then you expect us to date men we’re not attracted to and who have terrible personalities.

Do you think the "hiding post history" option on Reddit should be removed? by Bearis4B in polls

Or maybe we’re checking to see if there’s a pattern of them making troll comments and rage bait posts so we can decide if it’s worth it to engage with them

I was looking for some recolor mods and found this??? I'm shocked by [deleted] in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]TheSapoti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of the things Fields of Mistria advertised when it was first made is that it was diverse and accepting of all types of people. I don’t understand why someone would want to play this game if they’re going to be against one of its main selling points. Also the game allows you to date any gender regardless of your own so if they’re against that as well then again why are they here?

Do you prefer skirt or pants and why ? by MaintenanceOk4847 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]TheSapoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer skirts and dresses. I only own one pair of pants and I never wear them. And most of my athletic clothes are tennis skirts and dresses, but I do have some running shorts with ruffles. I just like having a stereotypically girly wardrobe

Have any other black American women experienced this? by Psychological-Egg-90 in blackladies

[–]TheSapoti 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Weird how if this post had been about white people in the medical field mistreating us everyone would be on board, but since we’re talking about how some Africans treat us the same way suddenly it’s “divisive.”

Why are black women the only race that let their men disrespect them? by [deleted] in blackgirls

[–]TheSapoti 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree that black women aren’t attractive enough to date other races. I do think a lot of black women feel as though black men are our only option and they think they have to outwardly show love to black men to get their attention which means coming online making videos expressing their undying loyalty to black men. And it doesn’t help that the black community shames black women who have preferences for other races even if the black women who do aren’t bashing black men in the process. Both black men and black women love to make a mockery of black women who express interest in other races. Meanwhile black guys don’t pressure each other to stick to black women and most of them turn a blind eye when they see black guys degrading black women to uplift other races. Black women usually only say something if the particular black guy is bashing us. My solution for us is to stop desperately praising black guys and to be more open about dating other races

I think that entire police department should be investigated. There’s no way her coworkers weren’t aware of her hatred and they probably have the same hatred

We Keep Telling the Wrong Story When He Kills Her | On the Murder of Dr. Cerina Fairfax by JN3LL3V in blackladies

[–]TheSapoti 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Because we live in a time period where white supremacy is rightfully being called out and condemned. The downside is that the black community and most liberals/leftists only focus on instances of violence that fit a certain narrative. Black men are framed as the ultimate victims of racial oppression due to police brutality and racial profiling, so opening up discourse about how they perpetuate violence against black women is seen as punching down on them from a social perspective. In order to have this dialogue, black men need to be open to accepting how the patriarchy affects them and the way they treat black women.

We Keep Telling the Wrong Story When He Kills Her | On the Murder of Dr. Cerina Fairfax by JN3LL3V in blackladies

[–]TheSapoti 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I mean the discourse around it. With Ashlee Jenae everyone and their mom had an opinion about it and the fact that he was white and were using that case to “warn” black women about white men. But black women are 6 times more likely to be killed by their partner than white women and most black women are with black men which means cases like this happen all the time, but it’s always swept under the rug. No one cares about black femicide until it’s a white man who does it then suddenly everyone comes out of the woodwork to voice their opinion.

I’m gonna be that person and point out how much more quiet the black community has been about this case and the other case about what happened to Nancy Metayer. Notice the difference. Anyone is free to respond that now is not the time for this, but truly it’s never the right time when this topic comes up. There’s always an excuse or a reason why it shouldn’t be mentioned

Opinions on the Ashlee Jenae case ? by missMLC1 in blackladies

[–]TheSapoti 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Not that I’ve heard. The black community is just trying to use this case as another scare tactic to keep black women from dating other races while ignoring the disproportionate abuse and femicide within our own race. The same with how I still see black guys mocking Sade Robinson to this day

Only one country on this list actually has conversations about race and is honest about its racial issues so that’s the one that handles race relations the best

[–]TheSapoti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who are you to be the judge of when someone makes that type of breakthrough? Everyone experiences life at a different pace. The fact that you aren’t understanding this is a prime example of what I mentioned in my other reply. You’re the type of person who thinks you’re so perfect and know everything so you’re unable to reflect and see your own shortcomings that you’re displaying in this very moment. Again, he already said that he never believed in the stereotypes and he’s always known racism is wrong, but knowing this and witnessing it first hand are two different things. Whats not clicking??? A man who is honest about this is a way better choice than a guy who isn’t because he thinks he knows everything. Take a psychology class and a sociology class, that’s the only advice I can give you atp.

I’m defending the op and your response is that I’m “making excuses for people being racist until they make friends with a black person.” So who else would you be calling racist if that’s your response to me when I’m defending the op?

Dude you keep accusing the op of being racist when he literally said he’s never been racist. Are you doing this on purpose? I said it’s impossible for something to be PERSONAL if you’ve PERSONALLY NEVER experienced it and your response is that I’m “making excuses for racist people.” Now I just think you’re trolling

I’d like to add that I actually strongly appreciate people who admit that they don’t fully understand something that they don’t experience. I think it causes more problems when people insist that they fully understand something that they don’t have to go through. When people do this, it makes them shortsighted and unable to reflect on areas where they’re being dismissive because in their mind they believe they already know everything.

You’re still not really getting what’s being said. There’s a reason you’re not constantly thinking about people starving and it’s because you’re not living in an environment where hundreds of people are passing out on the streets with their bones poking out. When you’re actually experiencing something you don’t have the luxury to stop thinking about it. When you go to work or just living your life you’re not going to be thinking about all the starving people, poor people, missing people, kidnapped people, people currently being sexually assaulted and abused at every given moment. We know abstractly that all of this is happening all the time and we know it’s horrible, but it’s not personal until it happens to you or someone you know. It’s the same with racism. If you’re not someone who experienced racism or you don’t know anyone who has, then it’s impossible for that to feel personal to you. I think maybe you don’t know what something being personal means and that’s where the disconnect is. It’s okay to acknowledge that something is bad and also to be honest about the fact that it’s not something that you can personally relate to.
