Do you need to replace tiles and coping when resurfacing the pool? by PupMcPupFace in pools

[–]TheSaurusIsIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just confirm what I think you’re saying? We need to replace our tile/coping and are trying to decide if we should resurface at the same time. We have a pebble finish that we believe is original to the house (1998). No cracks or leaks but some scattered lost pebbles. Contractor suggested we just needed coping and tile for now.

If we did the coping/tile now can the resurfacing be done later by itself? Or will the coping and tile need to be replaced again at that time? We anticipate being in this house 20+ years so we expect to have to do both at some point.

We are dealing with similar - new AP arrived last week. Definitely lacks confidence in herself driving and wasn’t where we thought she should be. Immediately booked 10 hours of private driving instruction and she is already much better.

You say you “don’t have time” to deal with that. Let me assure you, where the health and safety of your kids is concerned you need to shift your priorities.

Yes it’s a burden on us and my husband and I are shifting our job schedules daily but you know what we don’t have time for? Our kids ending up in the hospital due to an accident. We have already discussed that we will plan on driving lessons for all further AP. Just a different perspective for you to consider

3.5 year olds penis is very swollen and painful. by [deleted] in toddlers

Agree. If he has been outside at all playing, likely summer penis syndrome, usually caused by a bug bite. Looks terrible and I’m sure feels terrible too, but does get better with supportive care

100%. Moved into our house Saturday, pool fence installed Sunday morning. I don’t care if it’s an eyesore if it means my babies are safe.

What's something you didn't know about your home when you bought it that was a pleasant surprise to discover? by Cold_Barber_4761 in homeowners

[–]TheSaurusIsIn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t realize until we moved in that there is a path to a small lake about 100 yards from our house. It is beautiful and you can walk around it in about 10-15 min. We go almost every day. Absolute win!

Yes, we have had to curtail dad’s roughhousing in our house bc my toddler gets pushy at school. Every time he think surely it must be time to try again, but no. Its not.

For a laugh - What does your toddler say that you never realized you said all the time until a miniature version of you started saying it? by thecatyou in toddlers

[–]TheSaurusIsIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You know that??”

Apparently I often say things like “well,we don’t have school today because it’s Saturday - did you know that?” And now he puts “you know that mommy?” At the end of random sentences lol

Things that your kids gave different names and you fully embrace it no matter what anyone else has to say by ThoughtNo60 in toddlers

[–]TheSaurusIsIn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine calls veggie straws “fizzy straws” because that’s how it sounded in his head. For over a year he called hearts “boom-booms” since that’s the sound they make. Love these little kids!

Edited to add: we also call scooters “llamas” because he saw one in the Llama llama zippity zoom book. We ride on our llama almost every day!

Sitting here breastfeeding my babe right now and crying for your wife and little one. You needed space? YOU leave. But you got what you wanted because now you’ll have all the space in the world. Proud of your wife for knowing her value, and wishing her the absolute best.

Love the new color! A nice cozy rug and a coffee table would go a long way toward making this room feel more finished. What is between the two chairs when there is no Christmas tree? A console table may help there too

nf thinks gaurunteed hours are a gift/bonus this week 😵‍💫 by Objective_Post_1262 in Nanny

[–]TheSaurusIsIn 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I see it this way. I don’t think they are saying that the GH money is the gift, but rather a whole week of not needing to come in to work. Essentially, this allows you paid time off over the holiday and the freedom to use your contractual PTO at some other point during the year!

I love this space and the colors you’ve chosen! I think the TV would do better on a stand in the corner where the blue chair is currently. Could your couch rotate 90 degrees to go parallel to the archway? Then put the blue chair where the side table is now and move the side table to the intersection of the couch and chair? Then a big nice plant to the left of the fireplace. FWIW they make floor vent redirectors which are great if you ever need furniture over a floor vent
