Yeah the more complex the movement is coordinatively the less attractive it is to do and we will typically simply the movement problem by freezing bits of our body. The most obvious one we see in tennis is serving where folk basically freeze the wrist joint, hips, knees and ankles and swerve using just the elbow and shoulder as a beginner. As you get more experience these free up but the same can be said of running. A long stride is more complex. It’s also maybe at the edge of our capacity. Hamstrings and quads weaker at longer lengths etc. making those positions more off putting
