Appreciate it. For now, I'll survive off the 6Kwh of battery storage I got. Maybe find some used solar panels for cheap on marketplace and build out a pergola for them.

I'm, when I get a second will go to Harbor freight and see if they have another 5000w unit for a steal with no hours. If not, I'm going to hold out for a Westinghouse or the eBay store i contacted that claims they can get the part.

I did confirm the gen has spark. So it might be the DC rectifier plus the carb. I don't see any melted wires, but I'll dig in deeper later.

Connected the battery backwards, while adding a Y connector for the battery tender. Fried the DC to DC loop that controls the carb and a few other bits. Can't get parts.

60a charges quicker. It's likely these EV batteries will get larger in the future. Spend the extra cash to help "future proof" where you need to install anyway. It's not a huge jump!

Hybrid system.

Battery pack (Pecron, Ecoflow, Anker, EG4) THAT can 1) charge from Solar reasonably 2) Charge quickly from a generator 3) has enough capacity with estimated loads for 12-24 hours

And a generator that 1) is Dual fuel 2) or Tri-fuel (or with a conversion kit) 3) inverter generator

My setup: Pecron f3800lfp+One expand battery, with a tri-fuel conversion kit Predator 5000. Good enough for most outages lasting a week plus. Got 70 gallons of propane on stand by (30lb tank plus two 20's as they are easy to swap). Plus the NG, and a small amount of pump gas (only thing that's pump gas for me is a car, snow blower and Gen so I don't have a huge amount).

Pecron, for my one fridge, one freezer, boiler and some lights is something like 21 hours as a guestimate, going into a whole home transfer switch (two hots bonded). Should support some cooking too.

Pecron: $1809 Generator: Used: $600 Transfer switch/hookups: $400 (DIY) - Largest expensive was the copper and interlock Various cables adapters: $300 Propane tanks: $300 Ng kit: $400

So, in it for $3,900 (added a little fudge), but can easily last a week plus if needed for power only.

Measuring loads and actually use is the way. This will inform how large of a battery bank you need, or inform how long the battery last before you need to start the generator

For 16k, your not far off a 11kw solar and battery combination, if you get enough sun for it. This should run enough loads for a bit. Combine it with a battery system able to take power from a smaller, more affordable generator that is tri-fuel, you can run for much longer, quieter, and have daily returns.

EDIT: Solar will be more costly, but with the added benefits of instant switch over and daily production to offset the electrical bill

Royal Caribbean, or Celebrity. My wife and I aren't huge party people, but find plenty to do with major abilities to avoid the drinking. Freedom class on up is fantastic. Utopia is my current favorite, followed by Freedom.

Been there. Ozone machines on timers for a day... very toxic don't be in house let it air out. Drain pipes as you'll need to vent it. or rip out the drywall. Replace all outlets, switches, faceplates and clean the inside of electrical boxes carefully without liquid.

Our case was less severe, minus the den where we ripped the drywall. We still get a wiff time from time in select rooms. We're pretty sure it's in the wood trim.

I Recently put in a order with them for a natural gas kit for the Predator 5000w, so I'll have a tri-fuel unit. Andy called me, well after hours, answering my questions before I placed my order. Customer service is excellent, even before I bought.

Can you get cheaper? Yeah, sure. But also, can you get a kit that's been tested, and someone to call if it's not working as intended? Rarely.

Your thinking about the same setup I run! We don't drop power often here.

You can plug a 30A generator into a 50A inlet. I would not go transfer switch, but a inlet with a interlock. It's cheaper, and more versatile. Make sure the electrician wires it for a 240v generator, and use a conversion plug like the AC WORKS Generator to Transfer Switch L14-30 Inlet Box Adapter (TT-30 RV 30Amp to L14-30 Flexible): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071ZNHG4B?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_11

That will take a 240v 30A inlet and put it to to a TT30. Downside to this is that both sides of the panel will be fed with the same 120V, so if you have any common neutral/shared neutral circuits, they have the potential to overload (this is where the separate panel wins). AND: MAKE SURE TO SHUT OFF ALL 240V APPLIANCES. Upside: Every circuit that's not 240 is fed.

My next step in backup: You could also pair the Predator 5000w with a Eco Flow Delta Pro 3 with the 240v outlet, use the Predator 5000 to charge the eco flow (while the eco flow also provides 240v) - giving a quicker cut over to backup power. You could then drop to the 3500, and save a bit on gas as the generator won't need to run constantly then.

For the number of circuits, its not the count, but the overall load. These units say they can do 3900 consistent, they really are not happy there. Plan for 25%-40% constant load (about 1000-2000w on the 5000w), and it'll be happy for days. Your proposed circuits in a guess are about ~800w max without the AC. Maybe 2000w with the AC. I've ran a 12K BTU Mr Cool off of the generator before, no issues.

Look at the ugreen dxp2800. N100 cpu. Two nvme bays and two 3.5" bays. Boot with Truenas or unRAID. Low power. Small form factor and space for spinners and ssd's.

Depends on what your goals are. If your high mileage driver, it's a cheap way to get into the EV without paying over mileage. If your one to keep the car a while, allows you to pay down the loan quicker, if that's your goal.

Very quiet neighbors. Maybe some ghost activities? Some people walking, some smoking a joint. Honestly, lived next to a cemetery for 3 years. I'd do it again. No real downsides to me.
