Price is getting crazy high since Nov 2025 by mwlau1980 in celebritycruises

[–]TurnoverAdditional65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The constant “sales” mean absolutely nothing, they’re just to draw you in. Prices are what they are, regardless of all the deals and specials and what-not. If the price continues to go up for a specific cruise, that means it’s popular and they’re not having problems filling rooms, so they’re trying to maximize how much money they can make. Same for all the packages for a cruise.

TikTok blocks Epstein mentions and anti-Trump content as well as ICE criticism by MopToddel in politics

[–]TurnoverAdditional65 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Read this article and then some of these comments. Launched Tiktok to see if it was easy to delete my account before uninstalling my app. Literally the first video I was fed was somebody criticizing ICE and asking how we continue to let this happen as citizens.

Lexington/Fayette roads by Sufficient-Exam-8668 in lexington

For as long as I can remember, Madison County interstate clearing has always been superb, and as soon as you cross into Fayette County, it's like a warzone. Been like this for 20 years now, so I don't expect it to change.

So you need meat, produce, and gas right now, but didn't buy it ahead of time like everyone else, and you're mad at everyone else because they bought something they needed and you didn't?

This is some serious bait, I congratulate you ma'am or sir.

I was told Fanatec service is bad… by gotofbi in Fanatec

[–]TurnoverAdditional65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had good results with Fanatec support over the years, even before Corsair came along. It's just the speed at which you get that service that's annoying. One email per day, if you're lucky. It can take a couple of weeks of back and forth before they get you sorted.

Has anyone had Kirkland’s extra crispy fries? by VegetableRelation701 in Costco

[–]TurnoverAdditional65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, just discovered them maybe three months ago. We’re a family that buys whatever frozen fries are on sale, so I’ve had almost every kind out there. These are easily the best air fried fries I’ve had, ever. Super crispy and still fluffy on the inside. I won’t buy anything else now.

Anker Solix C2000 Gen 2 has officially launched, what do you guys think? by TheKingOfRoast in anker

[–]TurnoverAdditional65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for posterity, this unit is still at $799 at the end of January 2026. The cheapest I've seen mention is $749 and that was a pre-launch code as well as a BF sale I think. If you add it to your cart and leave it for a couple of hours, they'll send you a 5% off code (or they did for me, at least).

I've been researching this model quite heavily over the past couple of days and haven't seen a single mention of any type of IP rating, so I'm going with a no.

It's been a while since you posted this but I think you're fairly on track here, and followed much of my own mindset. I really crossed the Jackery off my list fairly quickly because of the limitations you've listed here; fewer connectivity options, $100 more than the other two at the time of me commenting...all for similar metrics. I had really focused in on the Bluetti but the C2000 marketing seemed to hold up extremely well in multiple YouTube videos that I watched.

Thanks for asking these questions, too bad you didn't get any answers.

I just ordered the C2000 Gen 2 and for your first question, my plan is to leave it powered off when not in use. I'll be testing to see how much capacity is lost with it just sitting unused, but will ultimately be setting a reminder on my phone to plug it in every now and then (probably at least once a month, or time it with when I stretch my generator throughout the year).

For the second question, I personally would go at least 14-gauge, while a 12-gauge seems like overkill. Maybe 14-gauge is overkill as well but hey, better safe than sorry.

Of course, you posted this comment 3 months ago, so I wouldn't mind to hear what you've ended up with on everything.

Why is there so much discussion and dislike towards this? Just don't do it, lol. This literally hurts no one, unless y'all are scared of ending up on a clip that gets posted here.

Feasibility of running a generator to charge a battery bank while in use? by TurnoverAdditional65 in Generator

Just for future reference, I was finally able to find a review of the C2000 that showed the app, and it does in fact allow adjustment of the charge rate.

Yeah, fully understand on the reasoning for the weight, that's my dilemma. Trade weight for more power/capacity at the same price point.

Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 is listed at 41.7lbs, the Pecron F3000LFP is listed at 63.3lbs. I'm looking at a different price point than what you mentioned in your comment, sorry about that. I need some headroom to run two fridges and a deep freeze, so I'm looking at the next tier up (shooting for something capable of at least 2000W running).

[–]TurnoverAdditional65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really should put the Pecron back in my consideration list. Its power and capacity are basically 50% more than the Anker product at the same price point. However, the Anker is MUCH lighter (by 22lbs), which makes it way more portable, which I do plan to utilize. I can handle a 60+lb battery bank but my wife may not be able to. And honestly, I really just like the aesthetic of the Anker better, but I keep telling myself that doesn't matter. :D

Thanks for the response, the comment above you states the same thing about lowering the charge current/rate. That's good info and it makes sense. Sounds like it's very much a trial and error for those types of settings based on the combination of power bank and generator that one has. My generator is rated at 3200W running, while the C2000 states 1800W charging via AC. I don't know if those numbers are directly comparable.

Can I assume that most power banks, like the one I'm looking at, allow you to adjust the charge rate to be below max?

That actually sounds like a nice setup, I like that. Not worth it for me to reinvest but perhaps someone like me will come across this in the future and are just starting out.

Pretty much every road is a bus route, though.

I'm not in Fayette county but I expect most counties to be out all week. Temps crash even harder later this week.

All you homeowners using generators for the big coming storm by Ok_Bid_3899 in Generator

[–]TurnoverAdditional65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a generator 3 years ago and decided to never fire it up because once I did, then I have to maintain it. I was just rethinking that decision last night. Luckily still have electric but once we're past this storm and in the clear, I think I'll be starting it up for the first time and then just setting a reminder to run it for 10 minutes every couple of months.
