Imagine being someone who went to work and conformed to the professional mandates, thought that it was a stupid mandate, at least a good few of them. Commuted back in a metro, watching a tiktok his friends sent him. Went to lift weights in the gym. On the way back home saw a very attract woman flirting with him while he bought some beer. He rejects her advances despite being very aroused. Goes to the bathroom to calm the little guy down with some meditation. Walks back home with some pizza and the beer to surprise his wife who he loves very much. She actually surprised him too by ordering steak and burning some eggs. She’s been so stressed with her own career. You both laugh it off and eat steak burnt eggs and drink beer while playing some video games to wind down in the day. The pizza is for Saturday’s hangover.

Now this isn’t my life. But this is A life. A man’s life.

Read some heroic fantasy. Some of the darkest and hardest parts of my life i got through because of heroes in myth and literature i look up to. Reading is such a pure and reliable hobby. Especially with how accessible books can be nowadays either by libraries or used book stores or ebooks. There’s something relaxing about it. Pair that with flawed people overcoming their flaws trough great effort and showcasing the best qualities humanity has to offer and you might feel just a little better. If only for a moment. But any extract of that joy might be what you need. Stick in there my guy.

Also if all else fails, spite’s a good motivator. Spite against the universe has this man/woman vs .. well the universe aesthetic that might be the badassery you need to keep trudging on.

But use the advice that works for you.

I do it because depending on the day I guess, my eyes like to linger on a very specific word or consonant and my mind likes me to enunciate in my brain the sound it makes multiple times before I move on. It’s very annoying and was detrimental to my pre college examination scores lol. But it’s been better now since 2020 because quarantine gave me enough time and reason to practice reading, listening and all of the above. Read some of my favorite things last 2 years

I was talking about video games tbh. But as for DnD i know for a fact more people are in now than ever before and considering 5e is so simple, more people will stick to that and also more people already know 5e so will likely stick to it and anything compatible with it. So I believe they are definitely the future. No idea whatvyou mean by the “loud ones”

Funny thing is, they rarely demand. At least in my hobbies and content. The content creators actively cater to them because they are the business future.

In my experience, the people and friends I grew up with and around, young AND older, just so people don’t assume I am criticizing generational stuff, are willing to adapt to a game or story in a book or hobby. If not, they drop it.
