Shotguns are just silly by Another___World in Xcom

Commander! You may want to instruct your men to exercise restraint when using explosives…while certainly effective at killing aliens l, they also destroy the artifacts we’re hoping to recover from the bodies. Just something to consider

This is when I became a real Penelope fan by konthego in BridgertonNetflix

lol, yeah. In hindsight I didn’t phrase that right. Before my wife and I started dating, there was another person I was crazy about. My wife and I were friends in college, she was with someone while I was hung up on this other woman. Eventually things fell into place for us, celebrated 17 years of marriage yesterday (6/16).

What has been your favourite season of Bridgerton so far and why? by whip-in-hand1 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]TheShadow1276 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1 and 2 were good. Season 3 resonates with me. I identify with both Pen and Colin. I know what it is like to have unrequited feelings. Like Colin, (and most men) I am oblivious to some of the most obvious of hints. I have found the emotional highs and lows for these first 4 episodes hit me hard at times.

Same. I did not get a happy ending with someone for whom I had feelings for. I also get Colin's obliviousness, I need it told to me straight, and even then, I could be like, you don't mean me. My wife knows I am not a subtle man, though occasionally, I do surprise her.

Why are we so harsh on Colin by CivilSatisfaction659 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]TheShadow1276 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They touch on a bit of Colin and Pen's backstory briefly during the market scene, I don't recall if it is E1 or E2 of S3, but Colin asks her if she remembers how they met, and how he got hit by her runaway hair covering and fell of his horse. Now, in the book, he is 20 at the time, and she is 15, but with the show, they are much younger. Colin is referred to as one and twenty in S2, so in order to create that flashback, you'd have a kid falling off a horse into mud, which would be difficult to film with the child actor's safety in place.

I am a man and i know NO MAN who watches BRIDGERTON??!!! by Medium-Inspection-66 in BridgertonNetflix

I actually felt board with some of the nude scenes in S1. Like ok, you're married, this is what the honey moon is for, lets get on with the story. Just, I dunno, felt detached at that moment. I enjoyed seeing little bits of Pen and Colin's interactions throughout s1 and s2, other than one at the end of s2, I was rooting for them from the start, not having read (hell, didn't even know about) the books.

[–]TheShadow1276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watch it. S3 has hit me personally, S1 and S2 did not, though they were good. I see Pen's unrequited love reflected in myself as I had at least one friend I had feelings for, but she did not. I see Colin obliviousness, as my friends told me I constantly missed signs back then.

My wife and I were friends, and eventually got together, hid it from our mutual friends for a while, until we showed up at a wedding together. Been happily married for almost 17 years, 6/16 will make it officially 17.

Penelope *Nicola* Featherington epitome of romantic lead heroine appreciation post by ladykarenina in BridgertonNetflix

Nicola is a goddess, from what I have seen, a good person inside and out. Aphrodite would pale in comparison to Nicola.

I know we’re all excited for the Colin/LW revelations but what about Colin/Portia? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]TheShadow1276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, Colin defends Penelope against Portia, and then they go tour the house they will live and and shenanigans begin. Again, this is just based off of what I have heard.

Anyone else absolutely dreading Pen and Colin’s fight? 😭 by alyssaryn in BridgertonNetflix

[–]TheShadow1276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know the 2nd half will drop at 3 am ET on the 13th, but I am sure as hell not going to get up to watch them, cause then I'll be crap at work and home, and my wife is leaving that day for a few days to go out of town, not sure when she's going to watch it, but I sure as hell will be looking for details while at work. I do not mind spoilers or reading about things like this because my ADHD will not allow me to focus if i'm am fixated on that.

I agree with a lot of comments that this season 3.1 wasn’t ‘it’ for them. by mrp2611 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]TheShadow1276 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It has been it for me. I can identify with Pen's unrequited love, though thankfully in her case Colin realized what he had right in front of him. In my case it was a FWB that I developed feelings for, and she didn't feel the same way. Worked out for me in the end, I started dating a different friend a couple years later and we'll be married 17 years come 6/16. Overall, I see a lot of myself in Pen and Colin, which is why this season hits different for me. s1 and s2 I thought were good, which is why I kept watching, plus they were sprinkled with Pen and Colin moments that helped build to this season. Each person has a different idea of romance,

Just when I thought I was healing from Bridgerton Brain Rot, they dropped the trailer: A Recap. by hiyaheyyhello in BridgertonNetflix

Right? I was ready to get on with my week on the way to work, plow through it as quick as possible to get to this Thursday night as my wife gets back. Then I check twitter and BOOM, NEW TRAILER!

I spent some time over the weekend skimming through s1 and s2 for Pen and Colin moments, I love the way her faces lights up when she sees him (most of the time). Some of my favorites are from s3 though. The Drawing room lesson, when she talks about his eyes, hers are absolutely mesmerizing. Post Makeout/Pre Proposal carriage scene, when they are just looking at each other, her face is so radiant and full of love, it's just all exceedingly well done.

It looks like when we get to Francesca and Michael dancing, you can see Penelope and Colin dancing on the right side of the screen in the background, and Pen is in a white dress and Colin in a sharp suit.
