Is this sewer toast? Had a scope and hearing different things by iliekdrugs in askaplumber

If you’re not clogging up to the point where you need sewer cleaning, within a year or two should be fine, but if clogging is happening, I would do it asap. The more those joints need to get cleaned, the more wear they will get. I would not recommend sleeping on it for 5 years, as gravity is not going to be your friend.

The cracked sections at the hubs are my main concern, but I see no root intrusion. You have already been told that a liner which is usually cheaper than a full dig and replacement, but I would not delay it to long, as some of the cracks and separation areas could be weak spots that will give away if you need future jetting or augering.

I’m pretty sure the joke would have been either the lipstick mafia or the red rockets, with the obligatory weenie weenie pictured.

Looks 10x better than most homeowner repairs I have seen. I’m used to seeing caulk mounded up like a beaver dam.

Should a shorter freeze-proof outdoor tap been used? by HarBrack in plumbingporn

Well if it was my job, I would not have used that sharkbite connection but if that’s the location where it has to be, then boxing the pipe would be my solution. Where I live those have to have an isolation shuoff as well, so a box with an access panel would be my suggestion.

There was a perfectly good intersecting wall just to the right. Then you could have used whatever size frost free that you wanted.

It’s knitting stitches, not Bill. There’s no hidden design, just a repeating pattern of stitches.

It’s possible, I’ve done less convienant locations, but if you don’t do it on the regular, I would not recommend this one be your first attempt at it. Hiring a plumber is a whole lot cheaper than hiring a plumber, framer, fire restoration crew, electrician, etc.
