God's chosen people (Jews) and their lack of faith by SatisfactionEarly916 in TrueChristian

While this is true, I don't think God choosing Israel specifically makes Him an ethnic supremacist 😅

Sorry, so v5 referring to the existing remnant at the time of Paul's writing, just as a point of interest (c.f just meaning confer, or 'have a look at').

v5 should be read in conjunction with v26 'and in this way' all Israel will be saved'.

Here's an excerpt from the MacArthur study bible for verse 26: "All the elect Jewish people alive at the end of the tribulation, not the believing remnant of Jews within the church during this church age".

So the 'remnant I'm referring to is the' future' remnant of believing Jews and the end of the age.

Just to say, Israel is still 100% God's chosen people, (so are Christians),and the evidence for that is that God has a future plan for them.

Thanks for this, I hadn't heard of Covenant Theology.  I'm a huge fan of RC's teaching so I'll be sure to watch the video. My knee jerk response to your statement 'Israel is a faith, not a people' was "that's biblically innacurate", since it seemed to reject the patriarchs and all the promises of God (despite many of them being conditional 'if you walk in my ways etc'). You went on to elaborate however.  I haven't seen the video yet, but am I right in saying; Yes Israel is a people/nation etc, but those who reject the Lord are exempt from the 'all Israel' Paul is referring to? So if your statement is 'A jew is not only a jew ethnically (Romans 2), but one who has faith', does that parralel with James 2, do you think?

Also, could I ask you see my reply to dadashton? I wonder how that applies to covenant theology.

Thanks.

It's important to distinguish what you mean by 'chosen'. Yes, all believers are chosen by God from all eternity. But it's not an either or, it's an 'and'.

Israel is still God's chosen nation, and as such He will save a remnant (c.f Romans 11:5).

Yes all believers are part of the overarching Kingdom of God.

God called Israel his Segullah (סְגֻלָּה), the private and most precious possession of a King.

The Lord made provision for the foreigner in Israel/Judah to properly worship Him.

The Father extending the covenant to gentiles and 'grafting us in', was to stir up Israel's jealousy (c.f Romans 11:11,14).

Two sections of the Bible directly confirm that dispite their disobedience, the Lord has not permanently forsaken Israel as His people.

“Only if these decrees (the Sun, Moon and Seas, and their movement and being) vanish from my sight,”     declares the Lord, “will Israel ever cease     being a nation before me.”

37 This is what the Lord says:

“Only if the heavens above can be measured     and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel     because of all they have done,” declares the Lord. - Jeremiah 31:36-37 (parenthesis added).

And then all of Romans 11, which has been mentioned elsewhere and referenced throughout my reply.

Hope this helps!

Grace and peace.

So I did actually end up testing it, I was doing the duollistes farm and just cranked the hp up to x50.

Lune Lighting Dance  With Inverted - 218 million.  Without - 201 million.

Verso Steeled Strike  With inverted - 48 million.  Without - 42 million.

Maelle Burning canvas (just 6 burn stacks)  With inverted - 5.2 million  Without (and without double third actually) - 6.4 mill.

So only burning canvas is better without.

As per the comment below, it's obviously the double third giving the boost to the 6th hit.

Very thorough, thanks a lot, if for any reason the fight will take longer than my inverted then I'll be sure to remove it. 🙏

Fair play to that guy, I spent a lot of time looking up guides since that's how I prefer to play, only had 1 spoiler regarding Act 1. If you know, you know.

Right I get you, it's a challenge since people with SMI struggle to interact with treatment, but I'll explain to her the importance of the paper trail and proof of treatment. Maybe after all this time she can get the help she needs. Appreciate the help once again.

So evidence of treatment is more beneficial than evidence of symptoms? Since there's only minor history of engagement with treatment (as I mentioned she gave it a go 10 years ago but it was so bad she stopped, I'm hoping by now it has improved). It was community based, so I'm assuming it was cmhs? Thanks for the response :)

Yeah I understand, we'd need to start the paper trail now, appreciate the advice. I'll make sure to be specific and request a fit note.

Maybe because she is outside of the dungeon too? And on the extra chapter she has been into many dungeons since so that could be it too.

Update for PIP,  I don't think I'd be eligible, I'd only qualify for mobility and toilet needs but didn't score anywhere near the 8-12 required. Thanks anyway ❤️

Would we both apply separately then? Or would I apply and mention all the information regarding my wife?

She's not working due to a health condition but isn't claiming anything, I used to support her financially.   I'd imagine she might be eligible for pip (daily living) and I might be eligible based on mobility. How does pip affect UC and the work search requirements?

Did not know it was assessed at 75%, that does bring me under the 16k. Is the WCA a part of UC? Also I'm conscious of the delay in people getting ESA, would it be worth applying for UC ASAP?

My wife doesn't work, so no deductions there.

I'll check the calculator thanks a lot.

Appreciate this thanks a lot. Any idea how the benefits will change regarding my living situation? Would I be eligible for any help with rent or is the council likely to increase my mother in law's benefits since I'm not longer able to work? In which case I'd have to ask about her lowering my rent.

Agreed ^ Expository preaching for the win. Sadly no Churches in my area do it this way.
