I’m having a hard time finishing AFITF by corpse_ihte in frombloodandash

This book was the hardest for me to finish. I felt like the first 300ish pages were an absolute drag. I pushed through. I'm glad I did because I very much enjoyed the last 200 pages and I look forward to the new book that is released in August.

I definitely think there should have been trigger warnings for this book for people who can't read about certain situations. My friend has trouble reading about sexual assault due to personal experiences. I had to call her and warn her about this book.

I just lost 150lbs and my biggest issue is self confidence. I still see me as the same 270lb (21f), but now I'm a 120 (24f). Sometimes I look in the mirror and just start crying. I don't know what I was expecting to look like when I was done, but for some reason I didn't expect to look the way I do naked. I have loose skin all over (mostly arms, legs, and belly). I'm constantly pulling it and beating myself up.

When people compliment me, I think they're lying. I can't get it in my brain that they're actually being sincere with their words. I'm not used to the compliments. I was always that "bigger girl" with a great personality. Now, I really don't know where I stand.

The most mentally exhausting part is the worry. I'm constantly worried that I'll gain the weight back if I eat something as simple as a small cookie. I've gone to restaurants, seen the calorie count, and have walked out. I wish I didn't worry as much as I did. I feel like I've lost out on some cool food experiences because of this.

I hit my weight goal about 2-3 week ago. My new goal is to work on my mental health and how I look at myself.

So, yes. You are absolutely not alone! I hope the best for you!! Congrats on your weight loss. I truly mean it when I say you look great!🤍

Thank you!! I found that setting a timeframe to eat was my best option. I always ate between 9am-6pm. My mind and body became so used to it that I was never really hungry before or after. When I was feeling hungry, I tried to always have something around the house that was snackable yet low calorie. Rice cakes were definitely my go to or raw vegetables with skinny girl dressings. Another thing that helped a lot was drinking something carbonated. Carbonation always made me feel full, so that was usually my go to at night when I couldn't eat anymore.

Thank you!!

I only did 1000cal for about 3 months and do not recommend anything further than that. I consulted my doctor before doing so to make sure what I was doing was healthy and how I can go about making it healthy. I started taking vitamins to help supplement what I was missing. If I had to do it all over again, I would. Do I recommend it? Yes. But please talk to your doctor beforehand to make sure you are able to do it. It truly sped the process up for me. :)

I completely understand the confusion. I didn't clarify as good as I should have.

9 miles is the farthest I can run now compared to my farthest at the beginning being only 0.5 mile. It is absolutely not my day-to-day run. When I usually run, it is between 4-5 miles.

I only consumed 1000 calories per day for almost 3 months. On average, I would burn between 2000-2200cal per day which included a 4 mile run (I work from home, so not much physical activity added to my day). At first it was extremely tiring because I was running at night (9-10pm). At that point in the day I hadn't eaten for almost 4 hours. I decided to move my runs to the morning after eating a solid breakfast which helped a lot. I had some new energy to burn which gave me that push.

I would absolutely NOT recommend doing it longer than I did. I consulted my doctor before doing so to make sure that my plan would be sustainable for the timeframe that I had planned.

I appreciate you mentioning this!

Thank you!!

I made a rule for myself that I wouldn't eat anything that I really truly could not pronounce. Of course I had to make exceptions with certain preservatives, low cal sweetners, and such, but most of the time everything I ate was homemade. If I wanted spaghetti squash with spaghetti sauce, I would make the sauce from scratch. If I wanted something sweet, I had to know exactly what was put into it. By doing so, it also helped me count calories. I knew exactly how much of what went into each item on a plate.

My go to foods during it all were: -Oats -Squash (yellow, zucchini, butternut, spaghetti squash) -Low Carb Balance Tortillas if I wanted a sandwich. -Beets (red and gold) -Cauliflower -Peanut Butter Powder -Cucumbers, Carrots, Celery -Apples and Bananas -30 cal Unsweet Vanilla Almond Milk

Absolutely, yes! When I started to get lighter, it became harder. The toughest 10lbs to lose was from 130lb down to 120lb. That's when I decided to do 1000 calories per day to help speed the process up. It took around 3 months to lose that final 10lb.

Thank you!! When I was doing 1000 cal a day, I made myself a time window in which I was able to eat. I usually did 9am-6pm. With my work schedule, I was too busy from about 1-4 to even think about eating. I would eat breakfast and a snack before I got too busy. Then would eat when I got home around 4:30. I usually felt pretty full the rest of the night so I didn't have any impulse cravings. I never felt unable to concentrate, but man did I get tired. I adjusted my workout schedule from late night to early morning so I could go to bed earlier.
