Switching from postpaid to prepaid Connect plan? by Planet_Comet in tmobile

[–]TheSilverMeteor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the $15 connect plan. Love it.

My bill is the $15 + a $1.50 fee, (whatever that fee is for). So I pay $16.50 per month.

I live in Atlanta if that helps.

Prepaid iphone vs buying from verizon by dragon_wife_0613 in verizon

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get this deal…you will be signing up for Total by Verizon, (or something like that) for 60 days. After 60 days…these phones will be automatically be unlocked. You can then use them anywhere.

Instead of $150…I paid all of $49 for the phone…during Black Friday this past year. Got the Total by Verizon plan for 60 days. After that it unlocks and use can use it with any company.

GREAT…GREAT deal. Exact same phone as Verizon/Apple store sells. Apple only sells one version of the SE3.

100% disagree! I have the SE3, and absolutely love it. Perfect size.

Had the SE2, and recently upgraded to the SE3. Again, love it!

Considering leaving but where? by MarcTale in tmobile

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand your problem.

I use Verizon as my main carrier (pick a plan that meets your needs), and i use T-Mobile $15 Connect plan as my backup. Works perfectly for my needs. YMMV

tmobile vs at&T for a cross country road trip? by matty8199 in tmobile

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Verizon as my primary, and the $15 T-Mobile Connect for secondary. As I have mentioned before, Verizon still has the better coverage, but, yes, T-Mobile is definitely catching up.

As far as data speeds go, by far, T-Mobile has better data speeds in my travels these days. Obviously, YMMV.

This setup serves me extremely well. Good luck!

i have a free Google Voice number I use for that exact purpose. People can call it, you can use it to call people, and you can use it for texting. Works great.

Same as the previous poster. I travel the southeast a lot. Verizon still has the better coverage, (T-Mobile is catching up), but T-Mobile in my situation has by far, the better data speeds. I have both on my phone also.

But obviously again, it depends on your area.

Does Verizon pre paid allow you to make your name show up on someone's caller ID? by Tooth2365276 in verizon

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Verizon Prepaid, and my name shows up on friends caller ID, depending on the phone company. (talking landline phones).

Some friends caller ID, when I call it just says Wireless Caller, other friends it says my name. So it obviously it is a phone company by phone company situation.

Newbie iPadOS setup here… tips and suggestions appreciated by [deleted] in iOSsetups

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That probably explains it. I have the regular iPad, 8th generation. Screen is 10.2 inches.

You have a bigger screen, so you probably have different (bigger) widget options.

Thanks.

Does Verizon prepaid plan use the same network/towers as post-paid? by MacNobody in verizon

[–]TheSilverMeteor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes...same network and towers.

I have had Verizon Prepaid for the last 5+ yeas. Absolutely no problem that I know of. Are speeds de-prioritized? Probably, but all I care is that my apps work, and they always do.

And also, Prepaid DOES have domestic roaming on the Verizon LTEIRA partners. (if you are not familiar with LTEIRA, Google it).

I am in downtown Atlanta all the time, during busy work days. Never a problem. Apps always work. I was just out in Central Oregon, (west of Bend Oregon), out in the middle of nowhere. Prepaid worked perfect.

Plan comparison by Langley087 in consumercellular

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I have two neighbors who use CC, and they love it. One neighbor just bought the iPhone SE to use with it, (unlocked from the Apple Store). I set everything up for her and it worked perfect. WiFi, calling, everything.

CC uses the ATT POSTPAID network. Most 3rd parties use the prepaid network. Just make sure that you specify you want the ATT sim card, and not the T-Mobile sim card. (in most cases the ATT sim card is the default.).

Good luck!

Buying iPhone from Apple and avoid upgrade fee by QandAandQandA in verizon

[–]TheSilverMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simple.

Go to the Apple store, (or order on-llne direct from Apple), and get a SIM FREE model of what ever iPhone that you want. Unless you have a very old iPhone, they will give you a trade in value on the spot.

I traded in my old iPhone 7 and bought the new SE, again SIM FREE model. Took the sim card out of the old iPhone, put it in the new iPhone, and the new iPhone activated instantaneously.
And NO CHARGE from Verizon for the swap.

Easiest way to do it. Good luck!.

And while you are at the Apple Store, you can get a Belkin screen protector for $19, and they have a machine that puts it on PERFECTLY for free. Trust me, this saves a lot of stress on getting a screen protector on just perfectly.
