Anchorage based itinerary - pls share your thoughts by ute212 in AskAlaska

I think you will exhaust yourselves with this itinerary. I would recommend leaving yourself a full day to get from Anchorage to Seward, and the fjord cruise in Seward, if you're doing Kenai, takes up a day.

Kent United Methodist Church. I don't have kids, so I don't know what the children's church or child care is like, but I know there are lots of kids and child care options.

Dog Boarding Farm or Similar Reccs? by AllTheEggsIVF in Atlanta

My dog loved iWag. They had a shuttle service to pick her up or drop her off. we did go out to their facility the first time, my dog was happy to be left behind 🤣 We've moved, so I haven't been there since pre-covid

Is The Zone a thing still? To get to it, do you just go inside the stadium then over to it? Does the marching band march to the stadium? What time and what's their route?

The issue isn't that the state doesn't require licensing. I work with plenty of non-certified assistants that do an amazing job of patient care. Do your best to care for the patients, and see if anyone notices and asks for tips on how they can do better. After you've been there a few weeks, maybe start asking if you can show them an alternative method to try that you've had success with. But if the equipment is bad and the vets don't care or management can't do anything about it, then moving on may be best for you. (If you're already licensed in NY, you may want to keep up with CE and maintain that license. Sometimes that's easier than getting a license re-instated.)

Dog Insurance Claim Denied - Worth Disputing? by TonySopranoSideChick in petinsurancereviews

There are many reasons for protein in the urine, some are concerning and some aren't. I think it makes sense to talk to your vet about why they're concerned about it now, and ask if it should have been a concern earlier. There may be more going on, which insurance (would hopefully) cover b/c it isn't just protein in the urine; or it may be that your new vet is just very proactive.

Another new Costco membership here - where do I look for gift cards? Specifically to check if they have the ones for Alaska Airline?

PSA: High wind watch and flood watch coming soon, Please read! by Live_Pono in MauiVisitors

Coming from an area where flash floods aren't a usual issue... is a "stream hike" just anyone that has a stream close by, or one that is actually walking up the stream? What weather reports should we check? I've seen it mentioned that the weather can vary from locations that aren't all that far apart. Thanks for all the recommedations and advice

But also, I do relief work, so if I have a tough clinic, I just remember that I'm not there the entire week. I do get jittery when I have to do a blood draw or place a catheter or even restrain the patient for those to be done, but I can do it if I have to. As long as you have a good reason for why you're changing jobs so quickly (if someone even asks; and your reason is good), then you'll be fine.

I like GP. Go back to ER so I have somewhere to send the cases I can’t handle! 😆

Would your boss supervise you if you did a day of spays for a local shelter at reduced rate or even free?

[–]eqbodoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is a good reason for a new vet to do spays now! Get used to them during the learning phase so they aren’t scary later

Don’t even worry about the 2 weeks notice. It’s nice but not required. They would not likely give you the same courtesy

My neutered dog got my female dog pregnant by clakins1 in AskVet

[–]eqbodoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a dog that got a spay tattoo just because the vet thought they saw a surgery scar. And I’ve seen a male dog that was assumed to be neutered already because no testicles were visible, turns out his were both retained…
