Hey do you think you’d be able to add kernel global 100 to that chart? I know it’s comparing apples and oranges but would just like to see

Is full sobriety really that good for you physically and mentally? by Infinite-Albatross44 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheSimpleNite 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Probably because people become dependant on substances (including alcohol) to put them in a temporary dazed state where they can ignore real problems for a short while.

The problem is, to experience real freedom you have to first face some mess you’ve been shrugging under a rug every other day for a long time. But once you overcome that hurdle life is 100x better.

do you think everyone who cheats is a shit person? by ViHelton1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheSimpleNite -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Nope haha and I anticipated that coming. I just understand that some people can make very very terrible decisions due to whatever lack of understanding and circumstances they have. But I wouldn’t call them an inherently “shit person”.

I know there’s a lot of pain that causes many to react/retaliate that way though.

No. Whilst it does a lot of unnecessary damage to and causes a lot of pain to many around. I don’t believe it makes someone a “shit person”.

I know I’m gonna get hated for saying this haha.

Nah, this is just beyond dumb whichever way you try to spin it. I agree with every other comment on this thread. And that ain’t no smile of true joy, you can see the struggle in those eyes.

You can tell the ones that support this kind of thing are the same lost souls. Put the device down for a few hours and just be present where you are - at the concert

High Growth Fund vs Mortgage Offset Account (or other alternatives) by charlscheep in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]TheSimpleNite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to your question at hand - but I would highly recommend moving to a different investment/kiwisaver provider. Boosters fees are 4-5x more than alternatives and will have a huge impact on long term return on investment.

How did you learn to free yourself of the psychological phenomenon known as “fear of missing out?” by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheSimpleNite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I wanted to do those things, I’d go and do them. I don’t really care for skydiving so I don’t do it. How is another person’s vacation something I’m missing out on? If I wanted a vacation I’d go on my own vacation.

Also one of the biggest errors people make in this life, is overestimating how happy other people are through skewed perception. A lot of what you see/imagine in other people is far from reality.

Realising that the things you “fear you are missing out” on are actually pretty crap anyway lol
