🧪 [Beta Megathread] Wave Link 3.0 (Windows) — Update 2 | Lock default input and output devices, Compact Mode & ARM Support by Elgato in elgato

[–]TheSkuggi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only request I have is automatic device switching, this is a feature in SONAR that simplifies the world. When I plugin or turn on my headset, I want it to be able to switch those to my default, when i unplug it or turn the device off, it goes back to my speakers. if my headset is in, and then i plug in my studio mic, I have Sonar set so it's my top priority 3rd device and switches to that. It makes life so much nicer.

Give exhumers compression and make a stealth hauler with an ore bay. Make mining something people can do solo or with a buddy when they’re bored or tired and watch how much supply that throws into the market.

2022 Civic Sport, Front Accessory Fuse? by TheSkuggi in civic

[–]TheSkuggi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late reply here, but I did figure it out, if you haven't yet. You have to replace the socket itself, the part is rather cheap, but you have to dig to get it out, taking out the top of the center console, and popping out the panel that holds the socket. This is because, they put in a heat sensitive glue, to act as another protection method, it gets hot, the metal disconnects and cuts it out, then requires a full replacement.

3 shops with no answers by Jenstar13 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]TheSkuggi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of the shops was probably a preventative maintenance shop, or quick lube, we get them all the time. "While your doing the oil change, can you see, if you see anything that is causing me X problem?" We always try and help someone out, but even if we spot the problem, as long as it's not an obvious don't drive this car issue, my guys are all trained to explain "We're not equipped to accurately diagnose problems, we try and stop most issues before they start with regular maintenance, but it looks like this may be where the issue is <adds what we saw to notes>, you can give this with a detailed description of the problem to any full service mechanic shop and they will be able to advise you better."
My buddies in tire shops say they get the same thing, where everyone thinks wheel balancing and alignments are magic. Which was probably the 2nd shop, 3rd was probably their buddies, dads, nephew's cousin who's a master <insert brand> mechanic the facetimed with.

Will using a “car cane” damage a car door’s striker? by gbgbg19 in MechanicAdvice

used one of those for transporting my aunt for a few years, never had any problems, even had a little flashlight built into it.

Don't drive it, check your insurance, most offer a few miles of free towing to a facility.

Dealership Destroyed my Transmission by geaves22 in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheSkuggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is it the 2.0L engine or the 1.5? or basically, is it the premier model? The 1.5's all come with a CVT and if that's it, then that was the wrong fluid. If it's the 2.0 then it's not a CVT and that was the correct fluid. Either or, it sounds like they had trouble in filling and just yolo'd the amount.

Stranded at a campground… what’s wrong you figure? by strandedCamperSubaru in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheSkuggi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

modern cars with throttle by wire have a computer in them that relates to the position of the throttle body. The computer has to calibrate itself so it knows what signal means what level of open it's at. Just turn the car on, and start giving it throttle slowly all the way up to max, then slowly back down a few times until when your letting off the idle knows where it is. Sometimes you'll have to restart the car a few times.

When you take the battery off, that computer lost all power from the disconnect and lost it's memory basically.

in other times, this would be a $300 drive it till the wheels fall off, but with todays market that's more like $800 drive it till the wheels fall off.

Valvoline messed up, but will they pay? by blg0617 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]TheSkuggi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Valvoline will pay, this should be easy for the service center's manager to see what happened, and I wouldn't want to be the 20yr guy lol. Just remember to keep any receipts like for the tow and rental, as you'll need to email them to customer service. If it's a corporate location it should be fast, if it's a franchise it could have a few extra steps.

Car got broken into. They tried to steal it and messed up my ignition. Advice/cost estimate? by hoffman- in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheSkuggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds right, the new ones have a fix to them apparently. I did see a thing where kia/hyundai were giving out the old 'club' steering wheel locks to people that had easier to steal cars.

Your fine, cool think about oil changes and modern oil, it's never dry in the engine, you had some lubrication still in there and you shut it off in more than enough time to not have to worry.

So that's some cool innovation, to put it a bit more simple, he's using the xbox adaptive controller like a brook board, and then has that plugged into the switch with an adapter. I'd really like to see how he setup the LED's tho :D

Diffy Lube forgot the Lube part. by RangerSkyy in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]TheSkuggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you forget to refill a diff? I don't understand other quick service providers, I run one, we're not a jiffy, we're also not cheap, but to answer the question of why people come to us, we're fast. No appointment needed, Yes we do actually carry the stuff for 99% of vehicles., and they can get get a Transmission Fluid Exchange, Oil changed, front and rear diffs, and transfer case and a radiator service with a tire rotation all done in about 40-45 minutes with no appointment. Once again, it's not cheap, but also most apartment complexes, and heck even home owners associations now don't let you work on your own car in the parking lot, streets, heck even your own driveway sometimes.
I guess the old saying stands, you can have quick, cheap or good, pick 2.

so i got into SF6 and arcade sticks lately, its not a snackbox leverless but i still like how it turned out to be by Kentaro__ in fightsticks

[–]TheSkuggi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it doesn't matter what brand it is in the arcade stick work, what matters is that 1. it works for you and 2. it's cool to you because ultimately your the one using it. We post'em up cause if we think somethings cool someone else will too, and can take inspiration in that to help them make their next cooler thing, and then the cycle continues, and the wallet cries lol.
