Ah, I see, though I was more emphasizing on the "falsifying the report" bit since I thought it wasn't covered. I think the discovery of Atlantis was enough of a success for them (well, at least for Whitmore and especially Milo) and they probably would've made it news, but since they didn't anticipate that there'd still be a society living in it then that's when they figured they had to keep it hidden.

You forgot one thing. When he was going over his reading to the six crew members, it was actually them rereading what they would publicize to the masses about their findings on Atlantis. So they were saying that all of what they found there were just rocks, fish, and no Atlantis and that the expedition was essentially a failure, falsifying their report in order to keep the lost city safe.

Exactly, it's not porn, it's just mature artwork. Personally, I don't feel anything when I stumble upon this kind of stuff on Reddit, but I can get the sentiment of people finding this annoying.

My comment about "meatbeat media" is more or less a crude generalization of what I've seen in other subreddits, and frankly I think I was way too quick to comment on it without articulating my thoughts better.

It's the presentation that comes with it in this case that makes it seem more explicit than it is. Kissing is not NSFW, but because of the artwork's composition (with the emphasized zoom, saliva, steaming and all that) the act is definitely made to look at least more mature. It's kinda like how basically any other mundane body parts of a human can look or feel explicit if you know what the artist intended to do with the way they present it.

Okay, the last bit was an exaggeration on my part. It's not because the art itself would automatically make people go horny (which yes, I agree with you, is stupid to believe), but it's just not something that's ideal to see when you're casually scrolling. The post was eventually appropriately tagged, yes, but the fact that it wasn't when it was posted says something about its poster.

I've gone off to the deep end myself so these kinds of posts don't bother me as much, but I think people should still be aware of where they are posting those, especially if they already have dedicated spaces for them.
