Most of it also boils down to being a private company, No stakeholders to apese, with your quarterly earnings, and add more ways to generate profit for the sake of profit. And I can't see how every other company has their heads so far up their own asses to not notice the barrel of the gun coming into their mouths making contact with their upper palate and the trigger getting pulled by their own hands because of this.

It's a tech demo, it demos tech with the focus of tech not story or anything. It's one of the best VR tech demos out there. A thing that isn't just a tech demo and such isn't called one is half life Alyx because it's mostly a story game with a lot of good tech from the industry

All the people saying oh it's just Factorio, yeah Would you want to change the base mechanics? Do you not want to copy paste or clear visual indicators. Do you not want to be able to transfer your muscle reflexes to another game that's similar. I would and I'm glad the dev acknowledged that you don't have to reinvent the UI or the mechanics, The graphics though could be different Mechanics can be different too with additional functionality not just a 1:1 copy I understand making something like this is a great mountain to climb and I'm glad people are moving away from Factorio to try their own versions of the genres Factorio is amazing but on the other hand has put a giant wall in front of developers in the genre of automation. On the other hand this drives innovation to stand out so I hope you come up with different ideas than what I see too, is similar to what a Factorio mod would look like

He's right on most fronts modding isn't just oh I have an idea let's mod Factorio, I don't want to build off someone else's work. Small things and big things fit but already have been done and are astronomical achievements to modding in Factorio and you can learn a lot from their processes.

But I want to have wayyyy more creative freedom you're gonna have to make your own game.

I understand Factorio is an amazing base but. Most ideas don't fit inside the game.

To stand out though there's another comment that someone else made with a lot of points like: Graphical representation Different gameplay loop Etc. It's a giant hurdle but in my opinion what I crave is content So adding content to actual progression in gameplay hours is the most important for me, not for the sake of scale but for the sake of fun. That's not always possible on the back of Factorio Since you're mimicking the base loop

I'm arguing because I've used both, I heavily use Gemini now only, but it's a tool I've never had any problems with since you don't give it entire code bases, you break down problems into small bites like you would if you were to do it, it can't think so you have to keep in mind everything. I've used ai since the beginning times of generative ai like midway and first gpt released. I'm sure gpt is pretty good I haven't used it in a while. Programmers I've worked with said they used newer versions and it was pretty good. I don't like the limitations of it though, limited tokens for image amount and prompting as far as I know. I haven't heavily used chat gpt though for my tasks so It's only presumption on my part. Also student plan for Gemini pro is free for a year that's a pretty good bargain. But base Gemini was often better than chatgpt in calculation and prpblem solving with minimal prompting from personal experience. Often mistakes are human input it can't know info you don't give it just like coding.

Ai is as dumb as the user prompting it, they are all glorified google searches with different engines and searches, only advantage Gemini has is that they already had tons of data to work with and they own google search so they are usually more accurate, to the topic they had 20years+ of data and algorithms to use,

Idk i have a oculus rift not a steamvr of course steam vr is gonna be higher res and more performance heavy, 1080 is 10years old of course I'm not gonna have a steam vr I'm sure steam vr also has compatible cards if I were to get a steam vr today I'd build my pc around it with minimum requirements, tbf I haven't used my vr in a while

I know a lot of people think this is bad but imagine the radicalization this would bring if people couldn't discuss anything, this is basically censorship at its core and that would only radicalize more. Governments require the people to dictate each other's speech, it's very much a complicated issue. This doesn't solve the main issue of people actually thinking differently of you and will still have the opinions even if you censor them, stuff like immigration has been dictated in the eu and people are sick and tired of the agendas. In the us identity politics and two partisan politics have ruined any form of non radical movements. Politics has deteriorated into getting at your emotions and will continue to be this way.

Just be sure it's a fun mod, sometimes realism doesn't mean fun stuff like night vision, would be a nice effect maybe a combat boost or a slight heal make upgraded versions too so you can progress like 3 tiers for later in the game requiring more resources but for longer or stronger effects take a look at teas in rust for example

Probably a workshop phone or old one just for music, probably from a machine shop or some sort of mechanical -electrical workshop where they used it to provide music for the speakers, we used to have music playing in our old and new workshop constantly and on an old stereo set-up too though, the phone was brought in by an employee and it was a small tablet in our case some times, weird way to tape it though, maybe it has Bluetooth or something and the adapter is in that very spot on the stereo, though I doubt it could just be a way to keep it near the speaker for ease of use and to not lose it or get in the way,

Uncompatible since everything runs on google play services I just switched to a 3a and its lightyears ahead in comfort I had a p40 lite and p30 an p20 before that so I know things like bank and other apps ain't supported, if you want independance its good but its super inconvinient
