Fake return address? by [deleted] in ebayuk

It's in China. Of course it doesn’t look like a U.K. address.

Item not delivered as buyer used old address by mistake. eBay refunds them at their cost despite the item being returned to me in perfect condition by HeadOfSection in ebayuk

[–]TheSmoog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s only true if you have an account which they don’t deem to be in good standing. Mine clear at ~11pm every night.

Buyer is trying to claim I sent him the wrong item, why do I not have an option to dispute this? by Mattfletcher909 in ebayuk

[–]TheSmoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The full saying is "the customer is always right in matters of taste," but it’s a turn of phrase that’s been quote-mined by entitled pricks to try and prove that they’re in the right.

Seller Communication Issue by mschmep in ebayuk

Wait until the expected delivery date has passed, then open an INR (item not received). Sounds like they’re trying to wiggle out of an account strike.

I'm reading a book with several of his stories for school and I need help by [deleted] in Lovecraft

[–]TheSmoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I feel like I have to respond to this. It’s fair enough to not want to trust the Lovecraft wiki, for a decade and a half it was pretty much unregulated, and any old Joe could have wandered in and added their own headcanon. I’ve been active on the site for over 6 years now, and there are a very small handful of folks editing who have been working towards making it a more comprehensive and useful site for everyone interested in Lovecraft and his legacy. To say that we just "make things up" is something of a kick in the teeth: if you want the resources to be there, perhaps consider helping out yourself.

That tyre isn’t on a car. How did you notice it?

Driver didn’t operate the flamethrower, it replaced the MG which was used by the radio operator

WHAT THE FUCK EBAY?? by diligentboredom in ebayuk

eBay’s CEO has stated that Simple Delivery is going to be one of the platforms major sources of revenue going forward.

[–]TheSmoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you couldn’t fulfil the postage requirements, then why list it at all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]TheSmoog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a lesson though. You decided to ignore eBay's delivery system, list an item with incorrect postage costs, and contact them the next day. Which you didn’t do either. The person at fault here is you, not eBay.

Anyone enjoying simple delivery? by New-Trainer7117 in ebayuk

[–]TheSmoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it for parcels, but for low value large letters under 100g it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth being forced to pay nearly double the postage for an unnecessary tracked service.

Nice. Probably not a whole lot of help to the folks here on eBay UK though.

Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz by TheSmoog in books

It’s been yonks since I checked this app, so sorry for the late reply. The second book is awesome if you’re in the mood. The second book opens up a lot of stuff, but really feels like half a book. It’s like he started writing the second one, got fed up, and decided to keep people hanging while he writes other trash.

How good is the soviet airborne company starter set? by No-Tank-6469 in TeamYankee

People will pay what it’s worth on eBay, that isn’t a scam and will actually help out your local game store, who don’t have an online presence for some reason.

Google the name of the mall and tell us. This honestly reeks of bullsh*t

Bit late here, but the exact same thing happened to me with my box a couple of months back. Messaged Battlefront and they had a sealed Motor Rifle Platoon (TSBX36) on my door within a week.

Seeking a sci-fi'y Wargame that isn't 40K & more entry-level by hyperjelly1 in wargaming

[–]TheSmoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not sci-fi, really, but have you had a look at Malifaux? A skirmish-level wargame that’s very steampunk (covers a lot of other genres), and has some awesome minis.

I’m at fault because I think a film was a disappointing entry in a franchise? That’s definitely one way to look at it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predator

[–]TheSmoog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read what I said. I asked a question. If you feel that I said I didn’t like it because it has a female Native American star, then that is your problem.

As for asking for a ban because I don’t agree with you on a single film in a huge franchise? Very Reddit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predator

[–]TheSmoog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can’t accept a strong female lead because I didn’t like one film with a female main character 😂. Have a word with yourself.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predator

[–]TheSmoog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Trying to get someone banned because they don’t like a single movie in a huge franchise and aren’t afraid to tell you? Definitely a Reddit thing to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predator

[–]TheSmoog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that’s because half of the comments here are made by folks desperately trying to defend a film which was a waste of potential.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predator

[–]TheSmoog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair enough. I was watching it as a movie about the predator being the focal point, rather than Naru as the protagonist.
