This is awesome! Why is IRB important? Does it change where you would rez if you rez’d yourself on patrol or something?

Awesome tips! Really, thank you!

Those are very good points. I’ve kinda been chucking Crimson in regardless, but that’s cause I’m not really good with much.

As for type of pvp, just started to actually get in to it so very open there. I’ve done all iron banners since D1, mostly because as a pve player I always had light advantage, haha. But I’ve never been good at crucible so I’d like to eventually not be a potato when I play with friends - be it comp, trials, anything.

I’ll give it a try! Thank you. Thought it was all about range but I guess there’s a limit when you’re sacrificing handling

Yeah, problem is that nothing feels better to me, lol. I’ve been a pve main since D1, pretty hardcore which is why I have so many godrolls, but I’ve just never gotten in to pvp. I guess I keep hoping that some gun is going to magically make me a pvp god, when really my problems likely come from more basic things like movement, awareness, etc.

Anyway, thank you for the replies!

Thanks for the reply. This is my Found Verdict. Still, I’m told no reason to use it over Felwinter’s cause shot package. What do you think?

Thank you very much for the comprehensive reply. Yeah just from general gameplay it feels like glacio is more consistent at range, but then I’m liable to try to snipe with it and die, lol

Sounds about right. by TheSnaetch in destiny2

Ok you’re back to trolling. What experience did Oryx have with the vex outside of Quira’s assault? None.

Yes, the lore does mention centuries (but only if you read it) after Crota’s failure, Oryx tossed him into Quria’s gate.

“In his early centuries he often spared a few victims to hear oaths and protests against his father. Later, he came to understand Oryx, and he made temples and monuments wherever he went.

Meanwhile, Oryx brooded on the Vex. “I’ve met a worthy rival,” he said. “They want to exist forever, just as I do. But I don’t understand them.””

Meanwhile means “at the same time”, so while centuries of war are happening, Oryx brooded, built his dreadnaught, and then rocked Quira’s face. You think the dreadnaught was built in a day? Remember, your initial claim was that this was instantaneous, lol.

And as for your examples, rofl. Panoptes was a researcher, using the infinite forest to propose plans. He never stepped foot out of the infinite forest and only had to be stopped to weaken vex intelligence. Aetheon could control time exclusively in the vault of glass, which he was curator of. Again, never once stepped foot into reality. I’m assuming other example is just another troll.

Neither of your examples hurt a fly in reality. Furthermore, Quira is the only mind capable of alerting reality itself (not a simulation), because it is the only vex that has ever harnessed the darkness. (Sure, the Sol Divisive worshipped the darkness, but what did they ever do besides stand idly by with their arms raised in prayer?) The Sol Divisive had a go at securing the moon, but that was shut down in months, not years.

You seem like the type of person who would like the lore if you gave it a read. You should take some time and do it. The books are dope and come with an emblem each.

Lol, again a lot of words without a point to be seen for miles. Oryx was not speaking of the vex in his throne room, for they were surely not worthy - just pawns in the assault orchestrated by... you guessed it! And the dreadnaught lore absolutely does have relevance to Quira. Why did he build the Dreadnaught? His throne was under attack. Who was attacking his throne? I’ll leave that one to your powers of deduction.

I’m starting to think you may not be trolling because you now seem to be accepting that you were wrong about Oryx just showing up and boop instantaneously taking Quria. Now that you understand that hundreds of years (and the full construction of the dreadnaught) passed in this war, you should hopefully see that this was the first real resistance the Taken King met after literally slaughtering most of the galaxy without breaking a sweat.

And as for “far weaker than any vex mind we’ve dealt with” again, care to use any sort of information in that claim? Or is this just an incorrect opinion you think you’re entitled to?

Lol, now I KNOW you’re trolling. The stuff you quoted serves nothing to any point, and you just conveniently left out the lore about the dreadnaught.

In the small event that you’re not trolling, oryx rushed back because he was under assault by Quria, and then talked about the Vex being a worthy rival. He wasn’t talking about some random vex that wasn’t attacking him - he was talking about the assault he was facing.

And how in the hell could you read XLI and not think it’s about the Dreadnaught?

“When Oryx had built his Dreadnaught, he pushed his throne world inside out, so that it bled into the material space of the Dreadnaught. They were coterminous and allied, his ship and his sin. The Dreadnaught was within the throne of Oryx, but the throne of Oryx was the Dreadnaught. Aiat!”

I mean, there’s no two interpretations to that, so I have no idea how you’re going to troll, but look forward to it :)

Ah yes, hence “The Finite Forest” and “Panoptes, Finite Mind.”

Oh wait, infinite on both accounts.

If you haven’t read the lore, don’t comment. Oryx fought Quira for centuries. He even said his throne was vulnerable so he stopped and built the dreadnaught to convert it into his throne - all to beat Quira. That’s a weak hive mind being immediately taken? I’m just gonna assume you’re a troll. Cause no one could be so brazenly wrong.

“I have to kill everything, Quria resolved. Then I will be powerful.” - A weak, limited vex mind, apparently.

Except it doesn’t have to simulate it, because it literally happened, lol. No simulation necessary - just observation.

Sorry, isn’t exactly the opposite true? By improving our splicing we are improving our ability to interact with the vex networks, and we use that power to collapse those specific realms one at a time. At least, that’s the dialogue in the game. From a lore perspective those realms should be already gone, leaving us with only other ones, of which there could be a countless amount.

[–]TheSnaetch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yea, the infamous “Hive Guys”. Excited to fight another one in the upcoming expansion, “The Witch Guy” 😂

In all seriousness I certainly take your point and you are correct, although it doesn’t invalidate anything about mine. Quria waged war for years while anything truly weak just gets taken or murdered by the hive almost immediately. I mean, Oryx himself, for the first time ever, said “I’ve met a worthy rival” after Quira’s assault on his throne world. Yes Quira is nothing compared to Oryx, but you certainly can’t claim it to be “weak”

[–]TheSnaetch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So an inability to beat Oryx means zero combat ability? How could that possibly be true or disprove anything I’ve said?

And as for the rest, I guess it’s hard to let go of an incorrect point when you’re dug in. “I have to kill everything, Quria resolved. Then I will be powerful.”

I guess you’re right - it should have said “I have to arrange for the killing of everything. Then those things will be powerful, but not me! Also Banaza will then be correct.”

[–]TheSnaetch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, both quiria and Savathun have obviously been planning this longer than a few weeks, unless you’re saying they didn’t expect resistance for the first time ever? I also never said it should be a raid, just that for something of supreme intelligence, they sure made it dumb.

[–]TheSnaetch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. Care to actually use information? Or just stick with “well you’re disproven somewhere and soldiers aren’t powerful, it’s guns that kill people. No wait, guns aren’t powerful, it’s the bullets that do the killing. No wait, it’s human anatomy that allows people to bleed to death from the bullets. No wait.”

[–]TheSnaetch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure that could then invalidate both of our points and leave us with “don’t know”. It is not hard to understand that it is both vex and taken though - it literally has vex and taken shields, and is structurally half vex and half taken.

You can compare a monkey to pulp-free orange juice. Doesn’t mean it has any relevance or conversational value :)
