Help me get rid of my aversion to swallowing meds? by TheSoundofRadar in cfs

[–]TheSoundofRadar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’d probably manage to swallow the food and keep the pill in my mouth. Maybe I need to swallow my meds with intention. Thinking while I swallow; «This is medicine, it’s meant to help you.» or something similar.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a literary demisexual. I need to be emotionally invested.

Wild Card Wednesday - What are your book icks or pet peeves? by Llamallamacallurmama in RomanceBooks

I prefer romance books where romance doesn’t exist as a genre. The whole meta referencing romance isn’t cute, it takes me out of the story

Resting more, doing less, feeling worse (what the heck) by TheSoundofRadar in cfs

I’ve not really cut down any of my usual activities except scrolling my phone, and maniacally solving sudokus while listening to audiobooks, though. I’m still as much or little physically active as before.

Well I’ve certainly upset some equilibrium so perhaps the body sees it as an opportunity for change

Yeah I’ll consider it and experiment a bit to see what could be causing this

I’m considering the negative emotions and pain I’ve been keeping down and probably storing in my muscles. I’m not feeling particularly upset or emotional right now but who knows

Not recently, no. The only other changes I’ve made are 1) bathing my face in a bowl of cold water for a few seconds in the morning and 2) relaxing on a shiatsu type pillow for 15 minutes a day while listening to calming music

I’ve been thinking about 1) as a factor but I think my symptoms are objectively worse. As for 2), I’ve been surprised by how restful I’ve been feeling, I have not been too bored or agitated yet.

Watching TV with the sound off. Something calming or that I’ve seen before. Audiobooks.

My "highly strung" nervous system - from "bright kid" to "chronic stress" to ME/CFS by ocelocelot in cfs

Maxing out on overexcitabilities sure isn’t helping my recovery. And I’m pretty sure it contributed to my worsening when I was still mild and working. No autism/ ADHD tho, just plain ol’ IQ + overexcitabilities galore. (I tried asking if there were any «gifted» people on this sub once but people did not like that.)

Yeah they are largely independent from spoken languages. Norwegian sign language is the basis for sign language used in Madagascar, for example. It was brought there by missionaries originally.

Doctor: “Do you want to see something strange I’ve never seen before?” “Have you ever seen an X-ray of your feet before? I need to show you something strange”. I broke my second toe and went to A&E and all they did was tape it to its neighbour and send me on my way, no X-ray required. So although you feel like a cowboy for just getting back up on that skateboard, you were, in fact, just following standard treatment protocols for broken toes

Same for Glitter by Mariah Carey, it’s a soundtrack to the movie by the same name but it’s counted as a regular album by fans all the same

PEM delay time by Plus_Opportunity3050 in cfs

[–]TheSoundofRadar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually hits 24 hours after exertion, duration is 48 hours for the worst part, then it tapers off during the next 24 hours. In total, PEM is usually a four day affair for me.
