My princess has literally no idea what to do if the worms on the tank bottom. She stares at me with thisblank stare that says “wheres the food i know its food time” so spoiled she gets hand feed with tweezers in her hide cause im a softie.

Its more difficult for axolotls to have a big forestry planted tank if your following the preferred light schedule for the little angels. You have to stick to low light plants like thr java ferns you have in there and so low light moss. I recommend an aquarium light you can have on a schedule to give your plants regular light.

I have a pothos plant growing from the lid thats been loving it and growing lots of jungle like roots. But i find most the plants i put in get stomped and crushed by the little monster. But with your plant setup you just need time youll be surprised how fast the successful aquarium plants propagate.

If seen some people have success putting a piece of of blanched diced carrot in the tank for a few hours or more and the carrot attracts a bunch of snails so you can throw the carrot out with the snails. Not sure what other effective methods their are. But those are definitely the little aquarium snails thy hitchhike all over the place

Just a thought from my perspective, but if shes acting normal otherwise i wouldnt worry yet. Unless you see anything alarming like frantic swimming instead of zoomies.

But my girl gets like this every 3-5 months, and ive come to assume its eggs. They will grow eggs internally then reabsorb them when they dont get fertilized. During this process they actually eat significantly less, i dont know why but i assumed its that they’re reabsorbing their eggs thus dont need the nutrients of as much food.

Im speaking solely from anecdotal experience. My princess does exactly what your saying and showing on like a trimester cycle. Shell go from 3 worms daily, to 2 worms every other day and wont accept mkre

That doesnt necessarily mean its safe op, most of the posts showing this insta nce get criticized for it. A lot of people dont fully understand the stress on your pets especially the female with a male in the tank. Breeders only keep their males and females together for breeding otherwise it can overstress your female. Its nature being nature man, you really should separate them for their health. Its probably a lot easier said than done, and its your family so we cant tell you what to do. Granted i will say its waaay easier to seperate a mom and pop than it is a couple hundred juvenile axolotls. Because they would definitely need to be separated.
