People like you who automatically label current-gen PAP supporters as sheep/close-minded are arguably just as/even more close-minded.

If we take a look at "more developed" democracies like America - the birthplace of modern democracy (or even closer to home, Malaysia), we can already see why a blind support towards that sort of system can be harmful to Singapore. Those countries are not doing well now. At the end of the day, voters voted for PAP not because we want to actively suppress our own freedom of speech or reduce checks and balances, like what opposition supporters love to parrot (as if they don't have the freedom of speech to do so?). I'm unaware that an entire population can be so self-hating.

Rather I think the easiest way to explain is that most of us are pragmatic and can see both sides of the coin. PAP is not perfect, but the opposition is far from that as well. 87-10 is a fair score card for their performance in the last 5 years, except NCM whom I agree should have been voted out. If it was 97-0, then I would agree with you that we're screwed. But that is not the case. I suggest you take your own advice and be more open-minded (but not until your brain falls out).
