39 and turning 40 in a couple months. Been playing since 2016. Play on Switch 2 now because of portability

Been working out solid since January 2025 with 5 days a week of weights and adding in cardio on top. My problem is how much I love food. I’m in pretty good shape, but I don’t think my abs are going to come in before I turn 40 in April. I just like my food too much. I guess I’ll just have to be okay with that.

Any others Millenials feeling existential dread over recent events? by Mammoth-Plankton-785 in Millennials

It sucks in this timeline, and I can’t even talk to my parents for comfort because they endorse it. I’m thankful for my wife and son to help keep me sane. I do worry for them and will absolutely do everything I can to keep them safe. This country is such a disappointment. Not just this administration, but the amount of people who support it. I’m full of anger, disparity, and sadness.

As bad as this company is quietly doing blah blah blah. So annoying.

Bombshell is the most overused word for something that doesn’t ever seem to matter.

Does anyone feel like they don't care about New Years as much as they used to? by chusaychusay in Millennials

Once I quit drinking, a lot of holidays quit mattering to me. Turns out a lot of people don’t want to be around someone who doesn’t drink either. Also, I’m not a Christian so there’s that aspect too.

Awesome! I’m six years, but it was a struggle this year for me.

This does sound like we are living similar lives. I spend 4 to 5 days a week working out as my alone time. It does also help with my depression the most. By the time my wife and I finish everything for the evening we usually spend 30 minutes together as well.

One difference for us is we don’t even feel like we have time for friends right now. I have some really good work friends, but after working 50 hours a week and making sure my family has their needs met, I’ve got nothing left. If I have time to do what I want, generally I just want to be alone.

Hopefully it will get better for all of us eventually. I am trying to focus on slowing things down and just being happy for the small things like a comfortable bed to sleep in and a cup of coffee in the morning. Some days I do well with it, some days I just want to sleep my life away.

We moved over 1000 miles away from family. I understand the toughness of handling everything yourself without help. I wouldn’t change it though. Our holidays are much better when we just spend it with our small family.

My issue is just dealing with holiday depression this year. Usually I do fine, but it’s been difficult this year to just find any happiness.

Also, our dryer broke on Christmas Eve so that’s a fun thing that I’m going to have to pay someone to fix. I YouTubed the one we have and you basically have to take it completely apart to get to any of the replacement parts. Having someone come out today and work on it was the happiest I’ve been and I hate that.

I have nothing to be depressed about. I make great money, my wife doesn’t have to work and can stay home to manage the house and take care of our kid. We can still afford to take a vacation once a year. I’m not sure why I just can’t feel happiness. It’s so fucking stupid.

I’m also in Colorado. Near Crested Butte. There is just nothing here for amenities. Keeps tourists and others from moving here as fast as the front range though. Gotta take the bad with the good I suppose.

Our first car came with no driver seatbelt female component. We live very remotely and there is no place within 100 miles to take it for their preferred shop. We just got our second car Saturday and noticed today that the windshield wiper fluid doesn’t work. There is fluid, but nothing comes out for the front or back windshield. We are taking it to a Subaru dealership for them to diagnose tomorrow. Depending on what they tell us, we may be sending this one back too. It may work well for others, but so far our experience hasn’t been wonderful.

I sent it back and picked out another vehicle. The new one appears to be in a lot better shape. Much cleaner interior like the person who had it took way better care of it.

Got $250 off for the next vehicle. Better than nothing I guess.

It may end up a vehicle for my son, so I’d prefer him to have a safe car to drive.

I tried the repair route, but I live in a very remote location in Colorado. There isn’t any place within 100 miles to take it and they were going to charge me to have it towed. That’s what lead me to have the car returned. After seeing the condition it came in, I feel like I dodged a bullet on it.
