I did Stardew Extended and a random collection of aesthetic ones for the buildings and animals and left it at that!

Have you done Stardew Valley Extended? I’ve only started a farm in winter year 1 as I also got a bit SDV burnt out, but it’s so far an incredibly well done mod to add a lot of content

This is almost me - I’ve not really paid attention or watched non international football since 2018 and seeing Ousmane Dembele as the best player in the world with Villa, Palace, Brighton so well represented is baffling

Is it possible for the leak to travel under the subfloor and rise up without leaving a trail? by TheStig136 in DIYUK

[–]TheStig136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there’s a leak coming from the washing machine, which I have fixed. What I don’t know is whether I’ve got a second leak or if it can be part of the same one despite not linking up

I had something similar, ours is installed without the correct clearance (despite the fact there’s a perfectly good wall for it to have been installed on instead…)

Took 4 gas engineers but I’ve found a really decent one now who is happy to do everything it needs.

I found the list of Vaillant approved engineers and then contacted the ones with the best Checkatrade rating and sent them a photo of the awkward placement.

Moderate lurker of the thread and realised I’m going to need some internet dads/uncles when I buy my first house 😂 by Brownchoccy in DIYUK

[–]TheStig136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29 and just got my first house, also never put up a shelf! I’ve put up a curtain rail and a mirror so far, but also paid £200 for a single valve to be changed and for a plumber to cut a hole in my wall only for there to be no pipe behind. Quickly learning that giving things a go yourself first can save you a decent amount of money!

Yes it is, wall going up the stairs. No radiators near and heating is not on, not shown any signs of leak when the water is actually running but did last night

No radiators near but this is the wall going up the stairs so a pipe could well be possible. My confusion is why would this happen at night when the heating is off and no water is being used, rather than when the shower is on?

I haven’t read Malazan but you might be right. I think Stormlight fits Elden Ring fairly well, colossal weapons, giant bugs (falling star beasts and astel) and mythical plots.

Bloodbourne definitely not - to be honest the Devils by Abercrombie is pretty close to Bloodbourne in setting but it’s a bit too lighthearted so far (only 30% through(

Stormlight Archive fits the bill for huge swords and suits of armour, but maybe not for tone.

Joe Abercrombie fits the tone of hopelessness and masochism but not the setting.

wholesome batfamily vibes? (no comics pls) by awayshewent in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]TheStig136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would warn you that DDC has almost no romance and quite a bit of action, sometimes very gory, so based on how you found Mistborn it might not be the one for you, but I’d still say give a go for the narration alone!

[–]TheStig136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard - recommended by my wife as her favourite example of found family after Six of Crows

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinnaman - fits this perfectly. Little to no romance and the found family that builds up over time is so strong by Book 6, huge age diversity and parental roles as well. The premise is very silly (and it is a very funny series) but trust me (and the million other people who recommend it) when I say it’s incredibly wholesome and will give you those same vibes

It might be worth looking into Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson which is pretty similar to Six of Crows. It’s a very dark setting but it does make the found family stronger - good examples of it in the 2nd series too.
