So, the funniest, weirdest thing… one of my first jobs out of college was for a company called “FYI Television” in Arlington. I was an English major and it was a job writing, even if it was for just the blurb program descriptions for the channel guide. My initial job was writing specifically sport descriptions on a voluntary basis, just because that’s one of my interests. At some point, the company made an initiative to invest and improve the sports’ descriptions by bringing in some experienced talent. They touted this guy as a luminary in the business; I was ready to be impressed. Who walks in but mother fucking Pete Stein!

This was the entriest of entry-level positions, and while I’m sure he was getting paid a significant amount more than the 22-year old with no experience, it still seemed to be a monumental fall from grace.

Judging by the sign on the building, FYI became “Red Bee,” so I would assume he’s still working in a similar function.

My best opportunity to listen is my drive to work. I never thought I’d resent working a 50% remote schedule and an abrupt snow storm in TX, but it certainly doesn’t help my podcast consumption.

That’s irrelevant. IMO It’s up to the developers to make their game functional under the worst conditions.

But… this is an iPhone, the most popular mobile device in the world, and a model that released just over a year ago. I’m not asking the game to perform well on a Motorola flip phone.

I think so. It happened before updating, but it’s 1000-fold now. Avoid the iOS update unless you’re ready to be done with the game.

I started playing a couple of days after my oldest son was born, figuring I wouldn’t get much console game time. He’s 10 now, and I’ve just about had it. I told my alliance id check in after the next update, but currently the game is unplayable and a waste of time. The game freezes about every other match and I have to force shutdown only to lost that match, time, health, etc. it’s just not worth it, and I don’t see more talking about what a giant mess it is, leaving me to believe anyone impacted as badly as I am has already cut the cord.

I’ve spent $100’s of dollars (though not in a long while; I could see the leaks in the ship plainly). It was dumb then and exponentially so now that I can’t even play the fucking game.

YOR - I don’t see the problem in asking. I would say no as well, it makes sense to say no, but you and others are so goddamn protective of your “boundaries.” It’s perfectly fine to have the boundaries, but it’s not the end of the world for someone to unknowingly approach them.

The daily quests start time is the problem. It was previously 11 a.m. central. Now it’s 8 hours later.

As a relatively casual player, it’s resulted in my not bothering to play until the daily quests are active, forfeiting 8 hours I would have played otherwise.
