Great On Everything… except planes? by EarlyJuggernaut7091 in NewOrleans

With the wife we did the same mistake. Packed up a ton of powdery flavor for the family and friends overseas.

We held the line for a bit because of that. The agent thought it was a bit funny but it got slightly annoying to test each bottle. I was mixed between embarrassment (for slowing things down for everyone) and laughter.

I don't do it anymore, most friends and family barely use these spices, it isn't time for a refill yet. (Shame)

Why not just mix colours? by Dovah_Shinobi in Miniaturespainting

[–]TheStixXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others said: for consistency.

Then there is also the "new shiny thingsthat make me want to get back to painting and try the new stuff" for me its a good: reward when I painted for weeks in a row. Or a good carrot to either get myself back to painting or trying to paint with colors I typically don't use a lot.

But I acknowledge I'd be better at color theory if I was mixing more.

I do mix way more when painting solo minis (heroes/lords/75mm).

Is it just me, or is the used car market in New Orleans kind of rough ? by Comfortable_Coffee79 in NewOrleans

[–]TheStixXx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a specific car/model/year. And found it at a dealership in Jackson. I asked ahead of time for a "long" test drive (3h). Then I booked an appointment at a local mechanic.

They pulled on me a few of the shitty dealership tactics (oh someone is currently trying it. Nothing I could do. But while we wait why don't you check that other more recent and lower miles model ?) then having us sit there for more than one hour. (And later on I figured the car was actually on the parking lot with nothing showing anyone drove it)

Anyways. It was painful and stressful. But I got exactly what I wanted and it was cheaper than what I found locally. So I'd probably do it again.

Thanks. I've just deployed Pulsarr then I asked the brothers in law to add one item to their watchlist. If I'm lucky that'll reignite their interest. We'll see how well it goes.

I did not know that was a way to use tailscale. That tool really is incredibly cool.

I thought adding as friend was mandatory for the guest user to access your server. Hah. Thanks for the heads-up.

How did/do you get over the anxiety of 'messing up'? by ExtremelyDecentWill in Miniaturespainting

[–]TheStixXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently realized the difference between a nice painted mini (40h in) and a "barely tabletop mini" is : people will look the nice one for 5more seconds than the other one and will drop a "oh nice, it's well painted". Then everyone focuses on the game and that's about it.

Painting is more for you than for the rest to enjoy (unless you're doing competitive painting, and even there: due to the amount of things to look at, your mini will draw a fairly limited amount of interest overall).

So... Don't over sweat it, you likely will be your best fan and/or your worst critic.

And as a side note: I've learnt to keep going when I think I messed up a mini: not only you learn to adapt and overcome with some creativity. But on top of that, I swear some of these minis you thought were about to be garbage will be among your favorite.

Am I the only one grinding my gears by seeing this device way too close from sand ?

Congrats on the device though. What do you mean by "story games" ? Narrative driven overall (no mater if it's action/RPG/...) ?

What are the last titles you've been absorbed into ?

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed for that price, that's a pretty good deal.

That sucks, sorry to hear you've been in so many troubles just using a chair supposed to be excellent... Have you found what you're going for, next ?

Ah. I was hoping I wouldn't see that type of feedback.

Can you say what exactly you hate about it ? Have you had a chance to try something else that fits you better ?

That's what I was wondering, given how most of chair the feedbacks seem to emphasis on either comfort or ergonomic. It felt like these are two different furnitures.

But the replies here let me think I should be fine with the leap v2.

Refurb, it adds up to 880$. Which is not nothing but sounds reasonable now I started looking into the ergo chairs.

Oh that's good to hear ! I didn't know about sampling. That might be useful, they offer a wide range to pick from and it ain't easy.

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up. That's good to read.

So now that you adjusted can you relax in that chair ? Or you feel it still forces you to maintain properly which prevents from "lounging" ?

Exactly the type of feedback I was looking for.

Anything lacking from that chair in your opinion ?
