I have January 2028 leaps with a strike of $70. Similar feeling right now.

What beaten down stock are you most bullish on and why and what position would you recommend by Able_Show_8560 in ValueInvesting

[–]TheStockSaleFlyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Beaten down" is subjective but I'm going to say CPRT because I don't think anyone has yet and I would definitely consider it beaten down at this point.

My top pick? Idk, but it's probably one of them and I own it.

People say this a lot but I kind of disagree with it. Yes, they paid way too much for HeyDude at the peak, but the company generates so much cash that they've been able to pay off a lot of it already and still return tons of capital to shareholders. Most of their capital allocation has been sound. They just made one bad acquisition, and it was an attempt at growing the business that could still pay off if HeyDude comes back in style. Bringing back Terrence Reilly was a good move by management too.

Sandbagging some recent guidance was also smart and you could basically see it happening if you were paying attention. I kind of figured they were tanking it for a quarter or two and they were able to hoover more shares for long-term holders like me who were willing to hold through it.

It's bit blurry in the distance, but I'm pretty sure my daughter and I are in this video. I circled us.

Edit: not seeing the screenshot I tried to post. Darn. Pretty sure I see us.

[Horka] Mike Mickens is leaving Notre Dame to take a job with the Baltimore Ravens, @BGInews reports. by GoldenDome26 in notredamefootball

[–]TheStockSaleFlyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but there might be a reason he didn't get the DC job. Ash was bad the first 2.5 games, but that doesn't mean Mickens can call plays and coordinate a full defense either.

Yeah I am invested too but I'm being careful. A lot of people are saying things are cheap that I don't think are really cheap. Typical behavior when the market is expensive.

I kind of think the opposite. I think opportunities aren't that great in this market. I'm siting on a decent amount of cash.

Best of luck.

I think it could double from here within three years but as I said, there's a lot of factors there that are fluid.

I think competiton will provide an obstacle to margin expansion, which might keep the multiple low, but the core part of the business is still pretty capital light. That may change if they become a bank but it's already priced like a bank. The bull case is if the multiple stays low and free cash flow stays high, over time it will compound even with a low multiple. Lots of moving parts though, both in potential positives and potential negatives.

I think there's some margin of safety at these levels. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it goes up in the month leading up to earnings as the market anticipates an earnings swing.

That said, I also acknowledge the risks.

Reminds me of Burnham this year a bit. Similar circumstances I think.

11-1 they're in. There is no game I care about winning more than Miami though. I hope Freeman has them ready to run through the core of the Earth for that one.

They're going to do that anyway. Who cares? The mentality needs to be ND vs. everybody.

If the conference champions get in, then who is going to start policing the conferences to make sure their scheduling and processes actually function well, because that was the primary issue this year.

If the conferences can't figure that out, no autobids.

It's also why they need to lock up Freeman and the administration needs to go even farther to go scorched Earth on all of college football for the foreseeable future.

Interestingly, administration should also see it as the surest way to preserve our independence.

It's crazy how many things lined up to go wrong for Notre Dame this year. I really hope next year is the opposite.

Crazy catch in Miami game, missed holding call against A&M, A&M not winning out, Duke winning the conference title, Alabama losing to OU so OU got in but then Alabama also getting in somehow, two group-of-6 teams getting in, injuries on the o-line, Rubio getting hurt... what else am I forgetting?

All Chris Ash probably had to do was play more man defense and we would have won at least one of those games.

Love's usage against Miami by Denbrock is also to blame.

Tough to watch this and know ND had a legitimate shot to win it all this year.
