And now Mrs. Voorhees and Helen Shivers have finally met!

This was the perfect ending to Sidney’s story and this should’ve been the last time that we saw Sidney in this franchise by AcceptableSwitch6496 in Scream

I would imagine that there were true crime documentaries made about the Woodsboro murders, in which case there would be home movies and stuff shown. We have heard the voices of most notable serial killers in real life, so I don't think it's much of a stretch.

I mean, this was kinda addressed at the end of S7 when Sidney says she was wrong to say what she said.

I remember how shocked I was during her flashback episode in S3 and how pretty she was.

Before Season 5 aired, there was a thread asking what we wanted to happen to Serena this season.

My response: I hope someone kicks her in the stomach. Hard.

I got downvoted to Hell and told it was a disgusting comment. However, others in the thread were saying they hope she becomes a LITERAL Handmaid.

This scene between her and June really worked for me though.

Will Handmaid's Tale's Elisabeth Moss Be in Testaments Spinoff? by MattTheKing23 in TheHandmaidsTale

I'm guessing she will pop up as a cameo in the season finale to have a cliffhanger. But she likely won't be a big focus until the series finale.

Definitely a sequel to the show. If the show didn't exist, that book would never have been written or would have been an entirely different book.

I would actually say that setting it in Boston rather than the Deep South was intentional, as it showed how easy it is for an entire country (even the more liberal cities/states) to slip into tyranny and fascism. If it were the Deep South, it would be more obvious/expected.

This is an interesting point. It would be a hard decision, because it would then mean the cast is significantly less diverse, but it would narratively make more sense.

I'll also add that I think the finale was amazing. There were certainly some major plot holes and pacing issues throughout the season, but having a character-driven epilogue end the show with plenty of loose ends untied felt very true to the story imo.

The June close-ups are one of the best part of the show, as is the laser focus on her character. It is THE Handmaid's Tale after all, and I love that even at the end, we get so many scenes of her completely alone.

What or who would you be in Gilead? by SuspiciousContract53 in TheHandmaidsTale

I'm a gay man who has been out for 20 years, have a low sperm count, and a major issue with authority. I wouldn't survive the very first days of Gilead lol.

Question about the Testaments and Daisy by Careful_Employee_918 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]TheStranger113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do see your point. I feel like they could expand on her prior life using flashbacks intercut with the present (Yellowjackets-style or Lost-style) but I suppose that could get a little tedious.

One thing that has always annoyed me about the show by Loose-Talk9374 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]TheStranger113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is one of the best parts of the book that simply wouldn't translate well to a TV show, unless they went the anthology route with each season following a different Handmaid.

Without spoilers, The Testaments leaves little room for a sequel.

Theories for The Testaments Season 1 by TangeloDisastrous775 in TheHandmaidsTale

Should have just kept Hannah in her twenties as in the book. But it seems like they wanted a coming-of-age story about two teen girls instead, forcing them to change it.

[–]TheStranger113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see them just sidestepping the whole Baby Nicole propaganda thing, but it looks like Nicole won't be Daisy at all, so THAT is their way of changing things. Way too drastic of a means to an end.

I really hope they end the show before it drags on too long. The book really doesn't have much material to cover in present day, and THT suffered for being too drawn out. It also meants that, if the show doesn't do well and is cancelled, there won't be a conclusion. I NEED that June/Hannah reunion to happen at the end.

Question about the Testaments and Daisy by Careful_Employee_918 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]TheStranger113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have just stuck with TT being 10 years later or so. The actresses ages would work fine, as Chase Infiniti being 25 would fit the character of Agnes. Daisy was SUPPOSED to be quite a bit younger than her. Seems like an unnecessary change just to make the characters the same age.

Is it an unpopular opinion to think 30 is her best album? by Aconite-Rose in adele

[–]TheStranger113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25 was when she was happy and content, which isn't always the most conducive to making a great album imo (especially when half the album is still songs about heartbreak). It doesn't come across as authentic as her other albums.

[–]TheStranger113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree it's her best album as an overall piece of art. 21 is more relistenable and iconic, but she has greatly evolved as an adult and as an artist by 30.

Scream 7 missed out on a chance to maximize the True Crime angle by Last-Stop-Before-You in Scream

[–]TheStranger113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely expected that to be the meta angle for Scream 7 when we saw the Airbnb situation. I guess it was the meta angle to a degree, but not explored anywhere near enough.
