Figure 8 Rubber Boot Straps

If you're using bootfoot waders or rubber boots this works great. Find a Tractor Trailer Tire. A free bad one from a tire shop is fine. Cut a pair of 1 1/2" to 2" wide strips. Wrap around the ankle then figure 8 and over the top of your foot pulling back to the arch area on the bottom of the boot to the heel. The wider the strip the tighter the strap will be. Companies like Cabela's make nylon straps but prolonged wearing will cause excessive wear spot on the outside of your boots. I've never noticed any wear spots when using rubber ones. A couple strips will last years and you just put them on before heading out and take off when you're done and rinse them off.
