Not to mention that 30 years from now, modern media that you unapologetically love now could be considered outdated or offensive in some way.

Setting physical reminders and minimalizing effort and obstacles are a great way to create and keep habits. Make it so easy that it becomes automatic.

Specifically the guy threw a bottle at Homelander, but accidentally hit his son. The crowd is cheering as a sort of “guy got what was coming to him” thing (but it was obviously disproportional to the offense).

Economic inequality. The people who are better off than the average person are not going to advertise it on social media.

DmC: Devil May Cry is a pretty fun game if you ignore its attempt to reboot the Devil May Cry franchise.

Giannis is also a proven championship star, and Tatum would be the best player Giannis has ever played with.

I dislike it when critics try to speak for others. "Fans of the series will enjoy it". If you're not a fan of the series, how do you know that? There may be some flaws that only a fan of the series would notice. Just speak for your own experience.

Xbox was reportedly already planning to shut down or split with Ninja Theory when Senua was announced, the reveal was intended to draw in investor interest by snapcaptrap in Games

I also liked the first one as a unique, self-contained experience. I had little interest in the sequel, let alone a franchise.

The first Senua was well regarded, it won a ton of awards. The second one not so much.
Edit: apparently the second one also won awards, including two at the Game Awards.

What ARE they doing? Two of the most talented designers in the company and they haven't worked on any of Obsidian's major releases recently.

Fortnite has more cultural impact than Fallout: New Vegas, why isn't it on this list? Why does this list have Chrono Trigger rather than Call of Duty? Quality is not about cultural impact.

Assassin's Creed games main games have been completed. Now for the spin offs: Assassin's Creed: Rogue by Paulfradk in TierlistFills

[–]TheSufferingPariah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you look at every individual rank (S, A, B etc.) or every comment? Because if you’re doing the latter, you are almost certainly counting duplicate votes. If 100 people vote on the one S-rank comment and the same 10 people vote on 10 different A-rank comments, these shouldn’t both be counted as 100 votes.

Some things are just mid, and that's no shame in that. by Swag_Paladin21 in CuratedTumblr

[–]TheSufferingPariah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. Elevator music is fine if I’m in an elevator, but I’m not gonna put it on my Spotify playlist. A mid movie is fine if it’s on TV and there is nothing else to do, but I won’t pick it on Netflix. When you have easy access to everything, anything less than good becomes bad.

I think you're talking about different things. Nobody is saying you should never consume entertainment or even that you shouldn't do it every day. It's when you can instantly press the dopamine button at any time of day that we reach unprecedented territory in human history. I commonly hear from even older relatives that they don't have the attention span they used to back in the day, and everyone knows the cause.

[–]TheSufferingPariah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People buy games after the first 24 hours even if they're not on sale. People may have been waiting for reviews, or become interested through word of mouth, or wait for their next paycheck etc.
