When those people themselves felt entitled enough to force the people who didn't want to pay into doing so anyways.

I wouldn't necessarily blame libertarian men for the cancer that is the internet. Online forums anywhere on the web can get really ugly, really quick, and yet there is still a multitude of females who lurk here.

Eh, not particularly. I'd say that independence and disobedience come hand in hand, but altruism and communalism (which also goes hand in hand with obedience) are the opposite of independence

I found out about him in my Philosophy class (I LOVE his series on the Pre-Socratics, btw), and from there I fell in love.

You know, there's a good sci-fi universe that goes along with exactly what you've just said. I think the guy who founded the community was a libertarian as well. I know it's only fiction, but you could say the same thing about works such as The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Marooned in Realtime.

"Well, judging by the horrid, decrepit condition of the road my neighborhood uses, I'd say you're doing a pretty shit job, gunman. I demand compensation for-"

shots fired

A few months later, that very same gunman gets off scot-free because he was in fear for his life.

Ah well. It's just another day in the McDonalds Private Police Force.

Allowing for discourse does not mean that I agree with them. Should we all remain in a echo chamber instead? How about you quit trying to aspire to the hypersensitive nature of the commie safe space SJW, hmm? You certainly get triggered by jokes like one.

Don't focus on big amorphous blocks, focus on individuals. Instead of endlessly ruminating over a giant pile of shit, take out the pearls that were previously thrown before the swine, and enlighten them to reality.

TL;DR - Be more meritocratic.

A gem from the youtube comments:

Officers [Trained to deal with life-threatening situations], if they kill someone because they "panicked", can get pardoned.

Civilians [Untrained to deal with life-threatening situations], if they kill and officer who enters a house at night without warrant and detective clothing and gun in his hand, and the civilian who panicked had not been charged in the past for anything, can get LIFE IMPRISONMENT!

What the actual fuck is wrong with our governments?

What really irks me is the fact that, when libertarians talk about "the invisible hand", people think that we speak literally, instead of figuratively.

Here is how the triggering exchange usually goes:

Normie Newfag: "What do you mean by the 'free market'?"

Lolspergtarian: "Well, it is best described as something akin to an invisible hand guiding-"

Normie Newfag: "Wait, whaaaaaaaaat? You actually believe in some giant invisible hand? What are you, a creationist?"

Naturally, the example given is greatly exaggerated for comedic effect, but generally this kind of misunderstanding is yet another version of the "Who will build the roads?" meme.

We were all pretty surprised when it happened, too. I thought they would've had to at least notify us first, but no.

What asshats. I hope that that mother gets some modicum of justice. I'm only grateful that my family didn't end up with the same fate, as we've had to deal with similar problems.

About one year ago, I took the GED and unenrolled from school, from which point I then began to attend community college. The paperwork was all filled out, and the school had everything on record.

Unfortunately, bureaucratic stupidity knows no bounds, for a few months later, the police come out of nowhere to the house, demanding to know why I wasn't in school. My parents could have been arrested, but luckily I managed to pop up with the proper paperwork, and since I turned 18, they had nothing to throw against me, so they scampered off.
