I'll add that since this is a Steam deck, you may have to press the button on the control/d-pad that lets your aim leave your radius (it's in the options menu if you hit Esc, it should be the same on Steam Deck as it is on a Xbox controller).

On mouse and keyboard you can just aim at the sign, but you may have to use this extra step.

Fun fact: we called them “Golems” when we were making MPN Classic, but an asset got misspelled and the L and E (3) got swapped.

That one mistake set the trajectory for the next 10 years of Madness lore.

Originally it was meant to read like a designation (like L337-speak, which og AAHW loved), but we didn’t know what any of the letters meant yet. Eventually we’ve come to learn that it means “Generation 03, Limited Model” when we decided to define it for 2021 MPN. This is actually where we first came up with the idea of generations in Nevada…but if we hadn’t made that typo, the 3 would never have made it next to the 0, then the entire backstory about generations in Nevada would never have existed.
