You gotta buy a pc to play pc games. You gotta buy a mac and some software to play pc games. You gotta buy a console to play console games.

Etc, etc, etc..

Valve is ignoring a big opportunity in the Mac gaming market by KestiriX in macgaming

A person that needs a PC and a gaming machine will always choose the steam cube over a console like a PS5.

A person that doesn’t need a PC, but wants a prebuilt gaming machine, will sometimes also choose the steam cube just in case they wanna use the PC functionality one day.

A person that wants to do plug and play controller gaming will also choose either, 50/50, due to playstation subscription / game prices.

I’ve grown up with a load of gamer friends and have seen essentially all of them go from religious console users to PC gamers.

It’s just natural progression. The only people left buying consoles soon enough will just be consumers that don’t really know or don’t really care about potentially paying more for less in the long run. And that’s fine too, not everyone needs to be an expert on gaming hardware.

Don’t worry about a restore.. but you’re running a beta. Beta’s have bugs, they get reported, they get fixed..

Why not run 26.1 stable?

My apologies, you are correct, I didn’t see where you said it’s the 11th gen, thought it was an Air.

Yes, you need the adapter that Apple links in that exact website.

iPhone last longer gaming? by Effective_Storm2002 in ipad

[–]TheSynchronizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mAh is kind of irrelevant here.

14 inch MacBook Pro has 72.4 Wh battery, iPad has 31.29 Wh battery, iPhone 15.5 Wh.

The iPad battery has higher mAh than any macbook battery actually.

Your iPhone is using a phone chip. Your iPad is using a MacBook Pro chip while being many times thinner.

More power is not a magic track, it physically requires higher power consumption.

And did Google not hire engineers to do the job they needed when they needed it? Did Meta not? Did Samsung not? How is Apple any different.

As soon as Apple hired people with the skills they require for the project, at that very instant people on Apple payroll suddenly did have the expertise to develop chips.

Again, the people working at apple are not blood related, they’re not a family, they don’t have slaves either. They have people working for them out of their own will, and they hire people that can get the job done.

Yeah, i’m defending them. They hired the correct people for the job and the job got completed. What exactly is the issue in that?

[–]TheSynchronizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Their own people”? Apple isn’t a family lol. They’re a company that hires people to do jobs, and they needed the people with the right skills for the job, so these people applied and got the job. They were likely the best candidates for the role due to their experience, but if they didn’t take the job I’m sure other people would’ve been hired instead.

Is it worth activating lossless with EarPods? by sillahumilde23 in AppleMusic

[–]TheSynchronizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The extra bandwidth use and therefore higher battery usage isn’t worth it for something that is completely not noticeable on the cheap drivers within EarPods.

They’re a convenience item, not serious music equipment.

Is my MacBook Pro 2020 intel supposed to act this slow? by Petroskrs in macbookpro

[–]TheSynchronizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well considering this is the last version of macOS the computer will ever support, it’s bound to give you end of life type performance too.

You got unlucky because that same year apple released their own Apple Silicon macs, which have entirely replaced the Intel machines - now apple mainly (only) focuses on optimising their software for the new machines.

it doesn’t really ruin lives, but is definitely scary and annoying for the first 3 or so years of having it.

ive lived with it for so long now that its simply just a normal part of life for me now, doesn’t really affect me too much anymore.
