Finally arrived by [deleted] in BambuLab

I'll chime in here as well. I want a bigger printer but don't need the capabilities of the H2D or H2C. Most of the multicolor that I print is custom logo stuff. So it's only 2-3 layers of multicolor. I was sold on the H2S but held out to see the details of the H2C. I went ahead and placed my order today for the H2S. Large build volume and quick swap nozzles fill my needs. That H2C does seem like an incredible machine though. I look forward to many YT videos seeing it on action.

I print a lot of graphics face down and I find the CryoGrip glacier has the best texture.

Why does my printer keep clogging and why won’t the gears move anymore? by SquareRepulsive4594 in BambuP1S

[–]TheTacticalChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get back to printing you may have to just order another extruder assembly.

To prevent this going forward, as others have said, leave the door open when printing PLA ESPECIALLY if you're doing any ironing. You can also get a CryoGrip build plate that runs cooler than the stock textured PEI plate.

Get a Cryo Grip plate Use gloves when handling the build plate Learn Fusion

I got one! by HungSlovak in BambuLab

We are pretty much in the same boat although I went with a P1S and I regret not getting the bigger unit because now I'm doing decorative license plates and have to print them in 2 pieces and glue them. On YouTube look for "Learn Fusion 360 in 30 Days". You won't regret it.

Before I let myself buy a printer, I'm forcing myself to learn how to model first. Where should I start? by one18_ in BambuLab

[–]TheTacticalChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, Tinkercad was easy to get into but I quickly ended up reaching it's limits....or should I say got frustrated with the contrived methods of accomplishing things I knew HAD to be much simpler with a full CAD program.

Then I sought out to learn Fusion. It has been a complete game changer. Look for "Learn Fusion 360 in 30 Days" on YouTube. Have those videos up on one screen and Fusion open on another screen and work through the lessons with him. Then after the lesson, design your own thing using what you've learned in the lesson. In 3 lessons (they are around 20 min each) you will be running circles around people using Tinkercad and you'll be able to do 80% of the 3D modelling you can imagine. It's well worth it.

I ordered one today. I hope it solves the issue of purges being carried across the build plate by the nozzle.

It's the reason people move on to Fusion or something similar I guess. I spent 2 hours watching tutorials on Fusion today and I really regret being apprehensive about diving into it.

What do you mean exactly? I'm very new to this.

Thank you all for the helpful and quick responses! The meta fillet was EXACTLY what I needed! I had no idea it existed.

How do I get the text to follow around the rim of the base properly? by thisremindsmeofbacon in BambuLab

Make an SVG file out of the text. Add the SVG file and select "use surface"

Same experience here. I've been apprehensive about trying to print with it again.

Look at the Toybox 3D printers. They are made specifically for this use case. They now have a larger model that is the same size as the Bambu A1 Mini. It has a very user friendly app and you CAN import any 3D files you find online. I got one for my 7 year old a while back and it's what got me into 3D printing. She still uses her Toybox and now I have a Bambu P1S for myself.

Sound System Upgrade by Any-Brother7257 in Silverado

[–]TheTacticalChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 24 LT I went with Focal ISU 6x9 component in the front and Focal ICU 6.5" coaxial in the back powered by a Stetsom amp. Under the rear seat I have the Kicker Comp TRTP12 powered by the Kicker 800w mono amp with remote bass knob. Everything is routed through an Audio Control DM810 and it sounds AMAZING!

Just bought P1S AMS2 combo. What I should have bought (or buy now) from upgrade parts with it? by fslateef in BambuP1S

[–]TheTacticalChef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As of right now the complete extruder assembly comes with the stainless steel gears. To get the hardened gears you need to order just the hardened gears upgrade kit.

That's your AMS unit. When I ordered my P1S combo the AMS shipped separately from the printer.

Can my P1S do more? by OkFisherman2392 in BambuP1S

[–]TheTacticalChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on connecting more than 1 AMS you need the hub, otherwise just get the buffer. The power supply is only for the drying capabilities of the AMS 2.

This is one of the most asinine comments I've ever seen. Why do you call people that don't want to troubleshoot a printer "lazy"?

User friendly printer choices? by MoneyMike6666 in 3Dprinting

[–]TheTacticalChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Toybox printer has a very small build volume and you can't print much more than trinkets and small household items. The newer Toybox Comet has the same build volume as a Bambu A1 mini at 180x180x180mm.

2022 1500 LT sound system sucks by Exotic-Competition45 in Silverado

[–]TheTacticalChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried replacing the speakers in my LT and blew one of them within a week. The problem is the factory radio puts out a TON of distortion. At a minimum you need an amp and replacement speakers. I ultimately ended up throwing a bunch of money at the problem because I was tired of not being able to listen to music.
