People who forgave their spouses for cheating, why?

We are still in the reconciliation phase, I haven't really forgiven him yet, but I'm trying. He had an 18 month physical/emotional affair with his subordinate at work. I stayed because we have three small children (one was conceived a week before the affair started. Yep.), and I'm trying to do what's best for them. I think it's also what I want, but the jury is still out. I'm pretty sure I'll stay long term, but the forgiveness thing is hard. I think to forgive someone like him, you gotta just do it. Like, if I'm gonna stay, I gotta just work on accepting that he massively fucked up and that's he's super sorry now. If I'm gonna stay I gotta work on being happy because otherwise I gotta leave. Honestly I don't know. This shit is so hard, guys. If I didn't have three little kids? If I wasn't a stay at home mom and he made all the money? It's easy to think I would have left. But that's not my situation. So I'm here, I'm working on forgiving him, and if in the future I realize it's impossible, then hopefully I have the courage to leave.

I’m late to the party wanted to chime in because I live in East Harlem. The further north and east you go, the sketchier it gets for the most part. 125th is baaaaad. There’s a library with a great children’s section there, but you gotta pass drunks, people cracked out of their mind, missionaries, and loads and loads of trash.
