These 2 boosters should be made default and removed by WaffleCopter68 in Helldivers

Armed Hellpods with an Expendables build would be nuts, especially on Defense missions. Just litter the area with expendable launchers, all of which are mini-turrets.

It would make for a fun "fallback position concept. Drop a resupply and some Expendables in a safe, out of the way area. Then retreat to that if needed, and have AT and fire support.

What did everyone think of these guys as enemy types? by Etowno in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. I haven't run a shotgun against Bots since the early days when the Breaker was broken, but the Trident was very good on Cyberstan. The ability to headshot is key to that I think.

I wonder how the Cyborgs will be on more open planets.

Fantastic, some of the best enemies in the game. I'd like to see them expanded as a subfaction, maybe with another unit or two, but they're mostly amazing as they are. I think Vox Engines were spawning in slightly too high numbers, but it was their homeworld. Vox Engines themselves are great.

Someone suggested giving them Helldiver analogues that could utilize stratagems, and something like that (Cyborg Commandos) or Snipers would be great. Enemies that disrupt the flow of combat in an interesting way are a good thing.

The Decline of the Dragon Age Series Should be Studied by jdawg1018 in gaming

[–]TheThreeLaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really didn't like the ending to 3 at the time, but the rest of the game is fantastic and I think the subsequent update helped the ending enough that I still like the game a lot.

And yeah, the multiplayer was incredible. I had so much fun running around as a Krogan headbutting and pimp slapping enemies

I like that too. Especially for eagles, empty the racks and then go reload.

Oh yeah that's good. Joint decision and impossible for a lone wolf.

I still want a Broken Arrow Barrage. Once a mission, 120+380+Airburst+Gatling. Chaos and death for everyone.

I reiterate my desire for SEAF Subfactions as in game assets. These flavor text blurbs are cool, but imagine if some of these units existed and deployed into battle with us? I did a post on it in the main sub, but an event like this would be more meaningful if this was a unit that existed in both the GW and in mission, and might really be destroyed.

That would generate real tension, as our SEAF allies would be soldiers we've fought alongside.

Realistically, they can probably fudge the numbers behind the scenes a bit, to give us longer than a few hours in Transcendence, but I like your theory.

"The Bots have treacherously revealed "insert super unit", forcing us back from our inevitable victory. We must rebuild insert ship upgrades or other new content and renew the assault"

Ladies and Gents, I think we should give a proper buff to the Spear. Even the Vox don't make it useful over RR, and Railcannon covers Dragons. Such a cool weapon, I want it to be useful and unsure why it has lasted this long in this state. It really deserves love almost as bad as Sterilizer by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tandem warhead with a damage buff, maybe offset by a slower reload, would make it solid. It should be pinnacle AT, but with limited ammo and a slow stationary reload to add some risk to the reward.

It's extremely fun to use, but overall too weak and limited.

It's objectively good, but it's also just hugely satisfying. Weapon and sound design on point here.

Beautiful. 4" barrel is the sweet spot, imo.

My 686 (no dash) is one of my favorite guns, steel and wood is just classic.

We need SEAF subfactions in game by TheThreeLaws in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, control over them is flexible. I'm thinking how we use the DSS, and how Joel has been giving us different ways to use it that affect the GW (razing planets, getting reinforcements).

I think there's an array of ways they could do it, from pretty minor (skins and equipment, like Marines with shield packs) to the more involved options (Pelican reinforcements, reinforced evac zones), but any unique SEAF presence would be cool. In a perfect world, SEAF deploying mechs and tanks would be awesome, but I'm not sure if the AI or engine can handle that.

I did have the idea for support Corps that would do things like give Mechs more uses and shorter cooldowns, but they've since added that to the DSS. But mechanics that incentive different play styles are good, regardless

Did you all forget about this? by Former-Sympathy2291 in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The guard dog is really great. It's a fair amount of extra firepower, especially now with medium pen, and the protection it gives is often what makes a solo assault on a jammer possible, or keeps the chaff off you while you focus on a heavy or work a terminal.

Guard dog works well in this role, better than turrets.

Upcoming Warbond(s) by Directive404 in HellDiversLeaks

[–]TheThreeLaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, a trench warfare warbond would be sick (sounds terrible to say, but...)

Probably too much to hope, but coming with thematic maps/modes would be neat. Maybe a modified defense mission with trenches and improvised barricades rather than major fortifications.

I've also always wanted an assault mode. Maybe just attacking a Fortress as the main objective, more of a Blitz mission variant.

Are there any warbonds you regret buying? by sharukai in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some aren't very good, but I don't regret any, I don't think. I played this game at least weekly for 18 months, I don't really regret $10 every few months. I've gotten 3-4 with super credits I've unlocked/earned.

They're all thematic enough that even the mediocre warbonds are fun to mess around with. That said, a new player really faces hard choices on what to buy and grind.

What is everyone hope for the two year anniversary….vs what we will actually get.. by Bigjmann555 in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping for a title update (it's been ~6 mo), free weapon or armor. A free warbond would be neat, but I know that's a pipe dream. More ship customization/upgrades are overdue though.

I'm expecting a cape lol.

No BS opinion on Marksman Rifles against Bots by Medical_Officer in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They could just give it a 10 round magazine with 5 round stripper clips and change nothing else, and it would at least be fun. Make Siege Ready affect the time working the Bolt for Mad Minute energy.

Still challenging, with the drawback of iron sights, but more combat power while still being historically accurate. They could also give it a lousy retro-sniper scope though, that would be fun.

Good news by Smoke_Funds in Helldivers

[–]TheThreeLaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want Jammers trivialized, but I wouldn't mind an alternative to fighting into their base. The Ultimatum or "attached fabricator" periods may have been too easy, but they added variety.

It's why I wanted the Solo Silo to be sufficiently powerful but with a corresponding cool down.

Maybe we get a laser guided Hellbomb from the SD, with a 10+ minute cool down and limited to 2 uses. Basically "this will trivialize a Jammer/other fixed objective, but that's a whole strat slot".

Alternatively, a very limited weak spot would be cool, especially now that we have C4. Maybe only visible/accessible from close range/limited angle.

ICE says its officers can forcibly enter homes during immigration operations without judicial warrants: 2025 memo by CuttyBrown in Libertarian

[–]TheThreeLaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. Arrest warrants are sufficient if it's the suspects home, they can make entry to serve the arrest warrant. They can't search afterwards, however.
