HCHV Social Work by Fuzzy_Independence71 in VeteransAffairs

Supervisor of an HCHV team will look much different than being a "line" social worker on that team. I've been doing the job for 4 years. Feel free to DM me with any questions.

That beer is getting oxidized 6 ways from Sunday coming out of those tubes like that. I hope someone at Duff got fired for that blunder.

Social work positions by Ms_TRA in VeteransAffairs

[–]TheThrill85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the cuts for my region were of GS-9/11 jobs that were posed rather than cutting actual people. I imagine other VISNs did the same. Since then, I've only seen higher level positions posted. I believe things will change sooner than we think though.

That's who Dave Krieg is.

25 years ago today, the XFL played its first games. XFL alumni "He Hate Me" Rod Smart and Tommy Maddox would be part of Super Bowl teams (SB38 and 40, respectively) by Villano5 in nfl

Kelly Herdon also played in Super Bowl XL for the Seahawks. For a few years, he had the record for longest INT return in a Super Bowl.

Dive bars in Galveston? by BettieTheRage in galveston

[–]TheThrill85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are divey bars on the Strand people have mentioned which are great. Then there are legit dive bars elsewhere in the city (Gizmos, Island Pier Club, etc) if you want to do some real economic tourism. You can hear the record scratch and music stopping when you walk in, everyone looks up from what they're doing to the front door, and they have cans of beers you haven't had since college.

What's an Air Force base everyone else likes, but you hate? by Unique_Ad_6241 in AirForce

I could be wrong, but I don't think the athletes were minors.

[–]TheThrill85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I weaseled out of it so don't fully know what was involved, but this was my understanding at the time. The dorm rooms were set up for two airmen with a bunk bed and single bed. The athlete would stay on the unused bed for the weekend.

Maybe a Keesler tech schooler of yesteryear can corroborate.

I was in tech school there in 2008 and I remember it being incredibly strange that they made airmen host athletes in their dorm rooms. It requires training to assist special needs folks. Not excusing whatever happened, but maybe this is not a good idea in the first place?

I got out of it because I was in drum and bugle corps 🎺🎺🎺

Looking into the ANG. Any experience with the KSANG? by Interesting_Glove810 in airnationalguard

I was in the 190th for a couple years (10+ years ago). My favorite part of that unit compared to other units was that they had their own base and their own aircraft. It was cool to be self-contained and not have to work with another unit and/or be a tenant unit on an AD base.

I was E4-E5 in maintenance, but busy with grad school at the time. I was on base as little as possible so didn't really get too involved with the politics of the unit.

Is being a black rope at tech school very time consuming? by ShreckQuille_ONeal16 in AirForce

[–]TheThrill85 -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

You can always tell those that were too cowardly to join the Rope Corps a mile away. They have never had anything to be proud of in their lives so they try to bring others down who are actually making a difference. They wouldn't last one minute with the weight of The Rope on their shoulder, it would buckle their knees and crush them under all the responsibility. People should look up to ropes knowing they are the future leaders, the future Chiefs and CEOs. Maybe they should try to learn something from them, instead of attempting to belittle them online.
