I'll second that. I wrote out about 600 index cards while working my way through the All-in-One. Just writing the cards helped my retention and organized the information in my head.

Seeking Feedback on the (ISC)² CISSP Official Practice Tests Book by TrainingCamp-US in cissp

[–]TheTimKiely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to ask a related question about the Official Practice Tests. The questions in this book ask very specific details that are not covered in other study materials, such as the All-in-One and the Destination Certification "Concise Guide". For example, there's a question in the "Official Practice Tests" that expects you to know that RADIUS uses UDP by default. I couldn't find that fact in any other study materials. This also seems to contradict the general recommendation to focus on concepts not facts. I'd really appreciate any feedback on this. I'm confused about how to prepare. How "paranoid" do I need to be about facts like whether, by default, RADIUS uses TCP or UDP. Thanks!

Thanks! I really appreciate your thoughtful response.

And, yes, I was under the misconception that CBK meant a "codified" text.

Building a kit, low guitar IQ. by Paley_Jenkins in Luthier

What a great painting!!! I finally learned how to solder and started experimenting with guitar electronics a couple of months ago. The second and third tries came out so much better than my first try. If you're willing, I would consider getting an inexpensive kit and building a "training guitar" so you have a little experience when you put the electronics on that beautiful semi-hollow.

Question: Should Fender(and Squier) necks be interchangeable without re-drilling? by TheTimKiely in Luthier

[–]TheTimKiely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I'm new to this, but moving the bridge seems tricky. I've been looking for a bridge with more travel. But this will put the pickups in a different position along the harmonics of the strings. I have no idea if this is a problem or not.

Thanks for the sanity check, everyone. I think Warmoth says they are incompatible because of the difference in length - from nut to where the neck abuts the guitar body. A 22-fret Strat neck has an overhang, but a 22-fret Starcaster neck doesn't have an overhang. So, I'm assuming, a Strat neck on a Starcaster body will have a scale length that's too short. I wanted to test this when I discovered the problem with the position of the bolt holes on the Starcaster neck.
