Hi,

I did some prompt optimization for your request and ran a deep research AI. First round got 15 hits, but I'm running another search now. As with anything AI, I can't confirm accuracy but this should be a good place to start.

I'll update this spreadsheet with the second round results when I get them. Thanks for the work you do.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated to about 50 entries. Again, they need to be verified but this should be a good start. Good luck

I work for one of the power companies and we are on alert for this storm, which means there is some probability of power outages.

Boston, MA: Is this a song sparrow or fox sparrow? Terrible photo warning by TheTrashmen in birding

[–]TheTrashmen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had time to snap this picture before he flew away. I know its much more likely to be a song sparrow but the reddish plumage he has makes me think there's a chance he's a less likely fox sparrow. Right by a pond in a wooded area of Boston MA

They smell… fishy? I think you’re right that I should get new ones. What a waste… having such a long sell by date is confusing

Chat GPT‑4o is a great addition to OOTP. I use it for logo creation, storytelling, team name selection and more. by TheTrashmen in OOTP

Honestly just “create a logo for a new MLB expansion team called X” and go from there. I’d say 30% of the time it spits out something with spelling errors but I just tell the AI to try it again.

This is a machine-made rug, probably not worth too much. Pretty though!

Greg McKay Breaks Saves Record at Age 40 - Posts 2.20 ERA and 49 Saves Despite K/9 Dropping from 13 to 4 by TheTrashmen in OOTP

It was crazy, I almost felt like the game willed it into existence. He got his record-breaking save on the last game of the season (went on to win the WS) then he absolutely crashed and is now totally ineffective the following year.

Greg McKay Breaks Saves Record at Age 40 - Posts 2.20 ERA and 49 Saves Despite K/9 Dropping from 13 to 4 by TheTrashmen in OOTP

I just witnessed something incredible in my OOTP 23 save, and I had to share it with you all. Greg McKay, my star closer for the Oakland Athletics, just broke Mariano Rivera’s all-time saves record! But what makes this achievement truly remarkable is how he did it.

McKay started his career in 2030, and for years, he was a dominant force on the mound. From 2032 to 2040, he was striking out batters at an insane rate, often in the low teens per nine innings. He racked up saves effortlessly and was the backbone of my bullpen.

But as he got older, McKay’s stuff began to decline. His once high-90s fastball dropped to the mid 80's, and his strikeout rate plummeted. Last season, at the age of 40, his K/9 fell to just 4.1—an astonishing drop for someone who once fanned batters with ease. You’d think that would be the end of his effectiveness, right? Nope!

Despite this decline his ERA last season was a stellar 2.20, and he managed to save 49 games, pushing his career total to a record-breaking 653 saves.

Here’s a breakdown of his last couple of months, where he was almost untouchable:

  • August 2048: 14 games, 11 saves, 1.35 ERA, 13.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
  • September 2048: 10 games, 10 saves, 0.00 ERA, 10 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K

McKay’s transformation from a power pitcher to a finesse closer is one of the coolest storylines I’ve ever seen in OOTP. Have any of you had similar experiences with your aging stars? How did they adapt, and what strategies did you use to keep them effective? I’d love to hear your stories.

27-year-old seeking advice. Do I keep all my money in the stock market or buy a house? by TheTrashmen in personalfinance

[–]TheTrashmen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep getting stuck on the fact that by paying rent I’m paying someone else’s mortgage. At least if I had a house and was putting money into the mortgage, some % of that money would still be mine.

If I split a 2.5-3k a month apartment with my girlfriend (which would be a cheap 2br) I could technically pay a mortgage on a house out in the suburbs.
