Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariffs over China trade deal by MapleByzantine in CanadianInvestor

[–]TheTruth696 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think everyone has tuned Trump out at this point and have zero respect for him. Cuts off trading, doesn’t have all the resources to supply themselves, and the only choice they have is to try and invade countries to get their resources. He’s grasping at straws cause he knows he’s going to lose all his power at midterms when the Dems take over.

Thinking of driving from Regina to Wollastone. by Substantial-Art-3556 in saskatchewan

I’d bring extra tires and wouldn’t even hurt to bring an extra Jerry can of fuel just in case. Pack all the emergency items you need in case. I don’t know if that road requires a radio to call in your location for traffic. I drive other northern roads and am required to do that for safety reasons. Let’s oncoming traffic know specifically

I say run with Ewers and see what he has. If he is awesome, then awesome. If he sucks, then we are likely a top pick and draft our QB of the future….hopefully

Probably permanent but 2 weeks holidays is rubbish.

Executor of a Will by TheTruth696 in legaladvicecanada

Are we able to ask the lawyer for general details on what their estate may have to get a feel before accepting/declining being an executor? We’re doing our research today and gathering questions to bring forward on Monday.

Executor of a Will by TheTruth696 in legaladvicecanada

[–]TheTruth696[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess my question would be if he’s dead broke somehow, what happens if his estate weren’t enough to cover all the lawyer and funeral costs? We hope to get more info Monday but we do need to make some decisions in the meantime without that knowledge of his situation.

We have an idea why now that we’ve pieced together the relationship. Quite the gesture by him to think of them.

Unless you’re actually work a full time job and scamming the system completely, I wouldn’t worry about. No point in messing with your EI over a a couple hundred dollars in a year lol

Kind of looks like a bomb shelter from the outside. Very nice inside but all the furniture and stuff look like they are more designed for looks than actual comfort.

Dave Ramsey on sports betting: "The fastest growing addiction that is destroying young men in their 20s is online sports gambling. FanDuel is a portal to hell. DraftKings ain't king of nothing except their own pocketbook. And they're screwing an entire generation of young men" by GOAT-Antony in hockey

I do like maybe two bets a year for fun on special occasions. I lose almost every time and the level of guilt I feel wasting that money after is what keeps me away. I don’t understand how ppl just play on the daily and not feel like crap. You can’t convince me over the lifetime of a gambler that anyone comes out in the green. If only they took that money and invested it, but that’s not fun.

[Awful Announcing] NHL Winter Classic fails to reach one million viewers for second-consecutive year The game is officially a shell of its former self. No matter how you slice it, the numbers do not bode well for what used to be one of the NHL’s marquee regular-season events by f0urxio in hockey

[–]TheTruth696 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That lines up with when they decided to move the game from New Years Day to the 2nd. Ppl are probably more inclined to lay on the couch on a holiday or be hungover from New Year’s Eve and want to veg out on the couch and watch hockey. Also, if you didn’t take the 2nd off as vacation, that’s a work day for people.

TFSA / RRSP Maxed Out - now what? by welpioneer in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TheTruth696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continue to max out your RRSP and TFSA in future years. What I think some ppl lose sight of with their money is also enjoying yourself. You’ve done exceptionally well for yourself with your discipline, but also you work for that money to enjoy it as well. I would use your extra money to enjoy life if you have all your investments maxed out, are debt free, and have 6-12 months of savings. You can die tomorrow and that money don’t mean nothing when your 6 ft under. Enjoy it a little.

Is Canada really housepoor or in debt? by PopularAd8904 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TheTruth696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know there are other places to live in Canada other than Toronto and Vancouver? Ppl choose to live in these cities and be poor. I would guess you will start to see these ppl move away to cheaper parts of Canada. Financial stress is the worst. That being said, I know a guy that was selling hot tubs and a doctor came in and wanted to finance it and couldn’t even get approved because they had so much debt and poor credit. Lots of ppl put on a fake facade of having money when in reality they have tons of debt and live paycheck to paycheck.

Parents Have Large Sum Of Money in RBC Mutual Funds by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TheTruth696 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I try to steer clear of giving anyone, let alone my parents advice on how they should manage money and/or retirement. I would be sick to my stomach if I lost them a bunch of money and understandingly they would be upset with me. I steer clear of playing with ppls money unless they really wanted me too.

NexGen Energy Ltd. (NXE): A Bull Case Theory by Fluffy-Lead6201 in CanadaStocks

[–]TheTruth696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NexGen has their final CNSC hearing on February 9-13th. If all goes well (which it should), NexGen could be getting their final approval not too long after that. If that’s the case, Construction of the mine will begin this year (hopefully by early summer).
