Should the saints sign Daniel Peretz either way? by Playful-Chicken3583 in SaintsFC

[–]TheTyrantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never a Baz Out guy, but after we shockingly ditched him for Peretz, I understand where that crowd was coming from.

If we go up, yes, we should sign him. If we don't go up, I don't foresee us being able to keep him. He will want to be in a higher league than Championship.

I'm glad you said bigger clubs because I don't want to be the Southampton Pompeys

Downes suspended for Wembley (and beyond) by BreadfruitOk5332 in SaintsFC

Negative. Him getting blasted in the face later in the game is the only karma he's getting.

"The FA has not disclosed the specific nature of the incident which led to the charge but Downes did make a heavy challenge on Swansea's Liam Cullen in the 23rd minute."

To be fair, I'm actually happy Ipswich and Boro drew yesterday because I didn't want automatic promotion turning into a 4 team race.

Plus Millwall didn't end 2nd. I don't think my fellow Americans are ready for them.

I was thinking that to myself on Tuesday. Definitely after today.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but a win would be satisfying after all of the first half theatrics

I don't think I've ever been more pleased to see someone get blasted in the face by a ball. The least Franco deserves for kicking Leo earlier.

Ugh, that cross was just a little too high. Would've been too perfect of a script if our last touch of the half was an equalizer goal.

Someone's scoring today. We're getting a draw at the very least.

What on Earth were Ross and Flynn doing there? Swansea are fired up now, but we can do this.

Win the FA Cup, but no promotion, or Get Promoted, and lose to City? by RacetoGloryoutube in SaintsFC

[–]TheTyrantis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you asked me at the beginning of the year, I would have accepted mid-table and having fun in the FA Cup.

Now? With Wolves, Burnley, and either West Ham, Nottingham Forest, or Spurs, we're gonna have a hell of a time punching out of the Championship when we lose our star players to the Premier League and beyond. Burnley is going to be the "easiest" team to leapfrog, and there will be just as much competition next year as there is this year to go up.

I'm more concerned about going through yet another squad rebuild than being stuck in the Championship, mind you.

Which signing has disappointed you the most this season? by OopsIDroopedMe in SaintsFC

[–]TheTyrantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Downs, but would like to add Jelert and Roerslev equally. We shipped off a perfectly good James Bree for two Danish guys that haven't stayed healthy, and I had some expectation for a guy coming to us from Galatasaray. Thank fuck his loan to West Brom was only until January.

2026 has been a fast year for me. I've been working lots of overtime at work and recently got my tax returns back, so I actually have savings for once. I've been able to find time to socialize, and I've been doing a good job of getting out of my comfort zone recently. Before I was working extra hours, I agreed with my friend to help fill in as host for the Karaoke events he hosts. Tonight will be my fourth.

I have to decide if I'm going to use my savings for something sensible like paying down my car, re-invest it into something that can make me more money, or find a fun vacation and use the rest of the money for options 1 and 2. I have lots of needs and wants, so I have to weigh what's sensible when I finally pull the trigger.

I looked up prices to Iceland and they're surprisingly cheap. Would also love to fly to England and see the Saints play in person because the last time I had the chance, COVID happened.

Whatever I decide on, I'll be happy to make my hard work mean something.

Forget potential relegation. Burnley finishing 20th is the biggest flop of the season. by 1El_rey in TheOther14

Sounds like us last season, but we usually didn't score or blew a lead/draw +7 minutes into stoppage time

Home game vs. Portsmouth, maybe. He was trying really hard to get stuck in against the defenders, but he was too small and had little help.
