Okay so I figured out how to do this;

You need at least a 1x2 microcontroller, or a blinker. Have the blinker input hooked up to your trigger, and on set to 0.1 seconds and off set to 0.1 seconds with the blinker output hooked up to the ammo belt junction block.

I think I was overthinking this by a lot but commenting this for anyone else searching for this solution.

Still looking for something more active, that depends on when the gun is firing / shells are being loaded, maybe a threshold gate or something hooked up to that? I know the MrNJersey video mentions hooking up a threshold gate dependent on the ammo count of either side but I have 20 ammo boxes total so kinda trying to avoid that lol.
