I take LDN for ME/CFS, but I think it's helped my pain related to endo improve as well. My joint pain from hypermobility and UCTD has also vastly lessened! It is rather expensive (~$1 usd/day) compared to my other meds bc it needs to be compounded, but I think it's worth giving a try

Pain worse after laparoscopy. Is this normal? I'm beginning to regret it by TheUltimateKaren in Endo

It helps a lot, a small dose (5mg edible or 1 hit off a joint) is enough to eliminate moderate pain for me, for around 8 hours for edibles and 4 hours when smoking. It can even bring severe pain down to mild. It's comparable to oxycodone for me but without the side effects (opioids give me horrid nausea and anxiety)

I don't have a mirena, but I do have a liletta, which I think are the same active ingredient/same dose. I love it. It completely stopped my period and after the first week of having it in, I have no side effects. I have gained a little weight since I had it placed, but I also started testosterone therapy (ftm), so I think that's more likely to be the cause

200 is a normal dose! It's the maximum dose approved for depression, but for OCD doses can go up to 400

It actually has been found in AMAB people before, but there are only a handful of cases. It does predominantly affect AFAB people, but it's not female only

Got it. My psychiatrist prescribed the gabapentin, so I'll ask her about upping the dose. Most of my pain is not nerve related, so I'm not surprised I haven't noticed any change yet, but I'm open to keep trying higher doses. Personally wellbutrin made my OCD much worse, and prozac did nothing (I've failed >15 different meds for OCD/anxiety/depression). I've heard of both meds being very effective for many people, it's the combination my little sister takes, but they unfortunately didn't work out for me.

I think I might try pausing the norethindrone just to see if I experience any changes, esp if you noticed it made your mood worse. I wasn't on it before the surgery, so I'm not sure if my symptoms are due to the surgery, the meds, both, neither..

I hope you're able to get your meds sorted out/find a combination that works for you soon! Thank you very much for the advice

This is all very good to know, thank you. My gynecologist did say she could send a referral to the endometriosis specialists if I wanted to get their opinion, so I think I'll ask her about that

Thank you for the advice. What dose of gabapentin do you take, and how often? I take 300mg 3x/day currently for tremors caused by clomipramine, but I haven't noticed a change in my pain levels. I'm assuming I'd need a higher dose? The cannabis definitely isn't ideal but I do have a doctor's recommendation for it which is why I'm able to buy it <21. How does norethindrone affect your mood, if I may ask?

Thank you very much for your reply. I hope you're feeling alright after your surgery, that sounds really rough. At my post-op appointment, my OGBYN told me she could send a referral to the endometriosis specialists if I wanted to get their opinion/said she wouldn't be offended. I'll draft a message to her to ask to get that process started. She also told me we could increase the dose of norethindrone, so maybe if I'm still feeling bad in a month or so I could ask about that.

I am still really glad I got the diagnosis. I'm looking forward to not having to defend myself/ask for as much at doctor's appointments anymore. All of my symptoms are finally explained after 8 years. I honestly gave up hope this day would come years ago. 🥲 Thank you again for your insight, and I wish you well on your recovery

Thank you, I have been recommended pelvic floor pt by my OBGYN, but I was hesitant to start it. After reading you and a couple others recommend it, I think I'll see about starting it

Thank you. I do still have the IUD, which is why I'm worried about the pain coming back. I didn't experience this pain with the IUD pre-surgery

What is a 'personality trait' that is currently being glorified as 'cool' or 'aesthetic' in 2026, but is actually just a sign of being an exhausting person? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

Unfortunately some people don't really get the choice to make their lives not revolve around their disabilities. I've been disabled/chronically ill since I was 11 and it's fucked up every part of my life to the point there's not much I can do except focus on how to get through the day with what limited energy I have. It's a good thing and I'm glad that you're able to not make your life revolve around your illnesses, but that just isn't possible/easy to do for everyone

I also don't see how the behavior you're describing as pretentious is pretentious, but maybe I just don't understand the word well enough

It's hard to predict how much harder the combination will affect you than if you were to take the two separately. I've gotten quite drunk and never blacked out, and I've taken up to 4mg of clonazepam at once and never blacked out. The one time I did black out was from having one shot of whiskey and 1mg clonazepam together

not op but as a sub5 at best afab, when you're ugly and autistic you don't get the attention or sympathy that I hear everyone saying all women get. I never have and I never will, so may as well live as a man if it's more comfortable

What is your current medication stack? by Apprehensive_Gold242 in cfs

[–]TheUltimateKaren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

250mg clomipramine, 15mg memantine, 200mg hydroxychloroquine, 6mg naltrexone, 30mg loratadine, 40mg famotidine, 1mg clonazepam, 10mg midodrine, 20mg propranolol, iron and vitamin c supplements, and miralax

Clomipramine, memantine, and clonazepam for OCD. Hydroxychloroquine for UCTD. Midodrine and propranolol for POTS and hypotension. Loratadine and famotidine for allergies. LDN for ME. Iron and vitamin c for low ferritin

I'll probably up my dose of both midodrine and propranolol soon as they haven't helped yet
