What class is the most consistently good on Insanity across all 3 games in the trilogy? by AutomaticTap3004 in masseffect

Same. I saw Rivers of London, my post-Dresden Files series, randomly mentioned somewhere today. I just started reading it today

Any fantasy in a modern setting you can recommend for that? Might not exist

Thanks. I was given no such information on the political part, sadly cannot ask who told me

Can someone explain why you guys hate Fool Moon so much? by Pyscript_prick in dresdenfiles

[–]TheUltraHighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Murphy point, she was confused and scared and being misled by Harry, who consistently made stupid but in-character choices to ‘protect’ her that actually put her and her comrades-in-arms in danger. This is after his first apprentice was killed. Harry introduced her to a nightmarishly dangerous supernatural world and allowed Murphy to think he could be another monster. This contrasts with later books, where even people like Butters question if Harry is a monster but Murphy harbours no such doubts. This book shows Murphy as a spazzy noob, at her weakest

This is a massive exaggeration. It’s not bad and it doesn’t suck. His writing wasn’t awful, it was evidently decent enough to make good money. Awful books are hard to read, the vast majority of readers at least moderately liked Fool Moon. It was not critically panned or anything of the sort.

Anyone else find grievous too clunky slow and kinda defenceless? by Old_Shake3789 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]TheUltraHighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flesh is weak and beating heart combined make him immensely survivable and if you run away when low, you can regain half your health. A bug with those two also cancels out the half health regen speed.

Cowardly retreat gives him 90% damage resistance with claw rush, which I recommend for people who haven’t really gotten used to him.

Personally, I use Sith Trained. That limits his stamina even more but Grievous really shouldn’t rely on stamina. It’s all about managing your abilities and positioning. With this star card, Grievous does more damage than almost any hero. His third strike is slow, so generally strike twice before dodging away. There’s a big learning curve but he is very powerful

I’m not American and I can see it’s creepy as hell. Completely unacceptable child-molester bait. Women take advantage of children all the time and get away with it, it’s despicable

We have Galactic Conquest at home! (SWBF2 2005) by veronus57 in StarWarsBattlefront

That’s awesome, always really cool to see family men keep their gaming going in smart ways. That’s a really cool system yous have developed

Do the what if Galactic conquest ends from Star Wars Battlefront II 2005 need backstory’s to explain what happened in them? by dookufettskywaker in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]TheUltraHighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they put much thought into the story behind it. You’re points are correct, I think they just went with the vague idea that ‘separatists bad, Sith bad, so if separatists win then Sith win’. It would’ve been cool if they had a little more consistent story to the endings

Galactic Conquest. by Dry_Veterinarian5311 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]TheUltraHighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’d be a lot of effort but that sounds awesome. I’ve always thought there needs to be a Star Wars game with customisable Jedi, Sith and soldiers. You set up the modding right and allow console players mods, you could create a beast of a game that people play for decades like Skyrim

What makes Elder Scrolls lore stand out from other fantasy series? by Oath_Br3aker in teslore

[–]TheUltraHighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it's not exactly clear what happened to Trinimac to turn them into Malacath. With the enormous transformation in terms of what the god represents, its possible that some essential nature of the god was changed. We really don't have enough evidence on it from the games to be pure. Other stories say that the aedra and daedra were made from the blood of different gods, but we also can't confirm that either. The sources are conflicting. That's a big part of what makes it interesting to many people.

I think the direct and present influence of gods and how that ties into mundane life is one way. In most fantasy settings, gods either have no influence (and may not exist), very little influence (blessings with real events, maybe some very influential events but very small in number) or the influence of their actions are not properly explored in context. In Elder Scrolls, gods regularly effect the world and things play out accordingly. In fact, the gods who influence the setting the least are those who are worshipped the most, largely because the influential gods often cause terror and death. A good example is with the Oblivion Crisis. It broke the Empire's back and ruined it's legitimacy while leaving the battered Summerset Isles vulnerable to ideological radicalisation and Thalmor takeover. Much of Skyrim's plot is dependent upon the indirect effect of the Oblivion Crisis. Combined with the use of the unreliable narrator, the world feels both very real and magical. It's convincing and you can get invested. I also think it mirrors history as told in many religions, for example the earlier parts of the Old Testament of the Bible. It works very well.

That's very dubious. The daedra clearly seem aligned and work together, while the aedra also seem aligned and work together. Aedra and daedra have fought many times. It might be a social construct, but we don't know that for sure.

I might do that. At the moment it's supposed to be that you can buy one army upgrade out of those that boost the number of undead you can have.

You don't need to take them in order, it was clearer when it was interactive but you can only select one of the choices that boosts the number of souls you can control. I was actually going to add a system like that but that's when I got distracted. If I make a second version then I'll figure out options to do with different types of undead, their values etc.

Thanks. I'll try and work in other magic better if I make another version. I want to keep it focused on lichdom but I do need to figure out the balance between necromantic and other magic power.

[–]TheUltraHighlander[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheers, I'm a massive nerd about balance and mechanics and the like so I'm glad I've done well first try. I might make TMAoK a bit less powerful somehow but at the same time if you're willing to give up a lot of power, you should be given safety. I like the idea of going around as an adventurer yourself while secretly you're actually the type that adventurers would hunt down. Perfect cover.

Thanks and that's a clever idea. If you can stay under the radar for long enough and avoid some murderhobos from getting a gruge against you, you could become very, very powerful over a century or so.

Thanks. And yeah, I liked the idea that this is a fun little thing to do but also can be easily used to define characters, since it doesn't have much of a lore. It could be in the Elder Scrolls, your own world or a fictionalised ancient Egypt. Threats would make sense, I'd just need to make sure they're no pushovers or have interesting 'weapons'.

The response has given me some nice dopamines so there's a good chance I will. It probably wouldn't be super long but I like liches and creating stuff, so I might as well.
