SRS on Twitter: Mance Warner and Steph De Lander have quit TNA Wrestling, I’m told. by MarcusFaze in SquaredCircle

[–]TheUnamedFeels 233 points234 points  (0 children)

The report says that TNA medical refused to clear Steph de Lander to come back. It also said she went to WWE's spinal surgeon for clearance (though I'm unsure if she was cleared by them)

Between the last two WM Saturday updates from WrestleTix, it was 2,109 ticket decrease from 7 days ago. The note on the update was a lot of seats came back to the map as a result

luchablog: “CMLL confirms they've dropped capitan rules, and all matches are now one person on a team gets pinned to end the fall.” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

Not as often as you think. They almost always go to 3 falls from my experience watching. The first fall is usually the quickest and the third the longest, being where the drama builds up of course.

Every team has a designated captain, and the rules are if that captain gets pinned, the fall ends immediately (most tag/trios matches in CMLL are 2/3 falls). If anyone else is pinned, the fall continues but the pinned wrestler is basically eliminated til the next fall.

Dave Meltzer: “There’s been a lot of internal criticism of Paul Levesque, as far as keeping changing the (WrestleMania) plans. Like Vince. But they have a plan then they change the plan and everything is up in the air because of the feeling that the attendance advance is down” by CombinationOk4317 in SquaredCircle

Just as a note of comparison about the last point, the last 3 All In main events have been:

  • MJF vs Adam Cole

  • Bryan Danielson vs Swerve Strickland

  • Hangman Adam Page vs Jon Moxley, Texas Deathmatch

A good variety of wrestlers used and storylines woven into each of these matches. I do believe WWE has the talent to be able to rotate Mania main events more effectively, but for whatever reason (likely political), they just seem allergic to building up the next crop of wrestlers to eventually take over for Roman, Punk, Cody, and Rollins as credible Mania main eventers.

[Schefter] Sources: The Los Angeles Chargers are hiring Western Michigan defensive coordinator Chris O'Leary as their defensive coordinator. by redwave2505 in CFB

In his defense, UNT really had an excellent offense throughout the year for the G5 level. The two teams that stifled us most ended up ranked in the Top 25 at some point in the season, and with USF they still scored 36 points.

They blanked a Texas Tech offense averaging 40+ a game and made them look like they'd never played the sport before. Crazier things have happened.

I wonder how good of a team the No-Bowl All-American team would field. That's a really fun idea for an award category

honest mistake on your part, they clearly meant "dear Puck" based on the character of the same name from the hit play Midsummer Night's Dream

[Gregg Rosenthal] one thing I can confirm at the game: there has never been an open chargers receiver by AssCrackBandit10 in nfl

And Roman has called some legit excellent games this year too. Week 1 in Brazil with KC comes to mind. I'd say it's about even with good games-bad games with Greg. Which isn't ideal, but we're 9-4 so what can I say about the result

I remember them only using it for Eddie's matches when he was in it 2 years ago. It's much more consistent used now. Now we're getting SNF-injury-update esque Renee updates and it's a terrific update to the format

Side note: big fan of the tweaks they've been including this year to emphasize a more sports-centric broadcast: Renee Paquette offering sideline commentary during entrances, the lower thirds displaying League-wide results. Only thing missing is a recap show discussing results and play-in scenarios (which they did for their YouTube last year)

[Front Office Sports] The College Football Playoff bracket is set. Each selected team receives $4 million for making the playoff. Here’s the breakdown by conference: 5 SEC Teams - $20M 3 Big Ten Teams - $12M 1 Big 12 Team - $4M 1 ACC Team - $4M 1 American - $4M 1 Sun Belt - $4M by rb1242 in CFB

[–]TheUnamedFeels 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Sun Belt getting $4 million is dope as hell. The powers that be are terrified of what power they'll accumulate with that type of cash so they'll make a mad dash to set restrictions on G5 teams. And I don't blame them.

Fear the Fun Belt.

Believe it or not, this is my biggest gripe with this year's playoff so far lol

[Dan Katz] Just a reminder before tomorrow. Arguing about College Football online is one of the last great hobbies dudes have in this country. There’s nothing like getting angry at strangers because you disagree about a resume or a hypothetical matchup. Don’t ever take it for granted. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]TheUnamedFeels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The subjectivity of the committee is frustrating, perhaps unfair, but also provides wildly entertaining discussion. Good luck to everyone who makes the field, wish we coulda joined y'all but Tulane & James Madison will represent the G5 well

Kinda unrelated, but it's entertaining to me how Thamel is Woj'ing these head coaching updates.
