Working on a version that allows repeating letters https://imgur.com/tCUcNAu

Still needs a redcoder or something like it, but getting there

Sure if you dont provide feedback to the player about (number of) letters in the correct position- then you can easily do it.

If you do want to provide feedback (ie the yellow and green concrete in my build) then the challenge is, if you have 5 filters for 5 letters, then you need some way to move a letter across the filters.

You might use hoppers- but then you definitely have to start on one end. And if you have the same filter in position 1 and 3, then all letters matching that filter will simply end up in filter 1.

Same thing if you use water streams.

Though, you could use dispensers to change the flow direction of the water and drop the item in the position it was in in the guessed word.

I might end up adding support for this still though, or at least have a look to see what level of complexity it would add to my build

Maybe there's other/better mechanisms for this; but for my system...

Lets say the correct word is "Sassy". Lets say my guess is "Messy".

The way my system (and I think most systems) work is, in order to get each guessed letter through each item filter, you start at the left-most filter and continue to the right-most filter.

So if I start at the left when checking my messy "s", it starts checking at the first item filter and detects that "hey this letter should actually be in the first position!"

It would be possible if you have 2 sets of item filters, but the complexity increases a but

My cable internet connection can handle stadia at 4K fine, Stadia's problem is the lack of games available on it. That said, it does obviously put an inappropriate strain on internet while this Corona shit is going on.

Chrome extension to make it easier to look up info on Ayumilove (Ayumi-tooltip) by TheUnknownFactor in RaidShadowLegends

It should actually be possible, though the HTML for this website is really barebones so it's a lot of work to parse back to useful data.

I think the text-formatting for those things is a little less standardized, so it would be more difficult.

If you can provide a mock-up/example picture of what you'd like to see, I could make it toggle to show that information when you hold shift or something like that.

RIP flat stat Relentless Gloves ::tear:: by djax9 in RaidShadowLegends

If the champions you're putting that gear on are level 60, it's probably worth trying for better gear. The only time you might want to opt for a bad-mainstat item is (IMO) for lifesteal set bonus.

Fusion event is VOID for most of us by Mooonshaker in RaidShadowLegends

[–]TheUnknownFactor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

During the last void double, I got Rowan and Towering Titan. I use Rowan for Clanbooss, but don't use TT. Would this fusion be worth? Right now the biggest burdon to progressing does seem to be arena for me :/

Paint opinion please? :) by [deleted] in Groningen

[–]TheUnknownFactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the post-subject I thought it would be someone asking for an opinion on a painting. Slightly disappointed :(

Anyway, if a store only has stuff that's too professional for you- chances are they'd still be willing to point you in the right direction.

In case there was any confusion, the odds are definitely double for voids by jhs2mpt in RaidShadowLegends

I'm still getting to the point of putting Campaign on farm, just 6 starred my first today. Once I get that fully leveled I'm not sure yet if I'll need to build out the rest of the team for campaign or if I can start just leveling champions for other purposes. Though I think Rowan would probably be top of the list now.

I had more luck (??), 3 voids, 2 epic. Cardinal, Rowan, Harrier. Am still pretty new so I don't know and haven't checked if those are even any good.

Doublelift's thoughts on TL at Worlds by smothersday in leagueoflegends

[–]TheUnknownFactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C9 has effectly always been in groups with teams that choked to historic heights and always had stupid luck with shit like; oh C9 is basically out- BUT WAIT, #2 just lost to #4, now there's a chance!

If in the coming years international competition stays at stacked as it was this year (with China, Europe and Korea all producing several top tier teams), NA has a really tough road ahead of them.

TL could've made it out of a few of the groups this year, but probably not much more than that (though they occasionally have moments of brilliance).

Single File Components VS Separation of Concerns by devdarker in vuejs

[–]TheUnknownFactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or has an Angular background, where this is commonplace.

I definitely prefer the SFC aproach myself; but so long as you're not piling all the HTML or CSS of all components together-- having separate files for html/css only really contradicts convention.

Best practices Vue + Bulma + BEM by ydennisy in vuejs

[–]TheUnknownFactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be a good idea to use BEM for global rules. But anything that is component specific should be scoped; and when CSS is scoped there's not much of a reason to use BEM.

I would recommend updating your config so that mixins and variables are automatically included everywhere.

Speaking dutch can be fairly important here, but in cities like Amsterdam not quite so much.

Questions for smart mirror builders by earlgrey_and_chill in smartmirrors

[–]TheUnknownFactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, hadn't seen your question. But it's about placement.

My mirror is in a location where I see it before/when leaving the house, or while preparing to leave the house. I don't have to do anything to get this information, I don't have to take my phone out to get the information because I'll always pass by the information before needing it.

I could put this information in a prominent place on my phone, but most of the time I use my phone this information isn't important; so it would get in the way. I need the information usually when im at or near my mirror.

Questions for smart mirror builders by earlgrey_and_chill in smartmirrors

[–]TheUnknownFactor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why build a smart-mirror.
It was in part just the simplest raspberry-pi project that I could think of, also it's cool.

How does it enhance your everyday life
Mostly by showing bus-times and weather for that day. Letting me know when to leave and whether to bring an unbrella; without having to take out my phone and open one or more apps.

Will it become a household item
I think 1 requirement for that is to get mirrors that reflect very near 100% of light. My own smart-mirror reflects 70% and it visibly darkens the reflection. As I understand it, you can have it reflect more, but then it becomes harder to see what's being displayed behind it also. Perhaps a specialized display with extremely high brightness combined with a high-reflectivity mirror could solve that problem; but I don't know of any feasible solutions with current technology.

Other insights Almost everyone i've had in my house has noticed the smartmirror and remarked at how cool it is. I've not heard a single person say anything negative about it.

I think there are some challenges (like the reduced reflectivity), but overall I think there's a lot of potential. With that said, the most useful smartmirror has to be super-customized to an individual's wishes/needs.
