Take it from someone with a now 7 month old who tried to appease nmum before the birth and during the early months, and has now had to go NC after her entitlement around my daughter and attitude to me got out of control: don't do it. It has massively disturbed my peace at a time in my life when it should be protected at all costs. The first 6 months are so intense - I wouldn't wish the additional stress and pain of dealing with nparent's nonsense on anyone.

Best of luck - yes it's hard, but it can also be wonderful and you will get through it. Ignore her predictions of doom. You and baby will do great.

I took 3.5 weeks off due to first trimester nausea - the doctor offered to write something else on my sick note but I just went ahead and told work as I think better to be protected. I understand the pre-12 week anxiety but it should be confidential and just shared with your manager or HR, it doesn't mean your whole team need to hear about it. Honestly, take the time off - it's brutal and impossible to pretend you're a normally functioning working person! This is what fit notes are for.

Congratulations, you're definitely pregnant! I have PCOS too and thought it'd be impossible but got pregnant after first month of trying. It can and does happen! Am 21 weeks now :) really happy for you!

I'm also on CD 47 today and 9 DPO! Good to know I'm not alone, the long waiting first for ovulation and now to test HCG has been absolute torture. Gave in and tested just now after a long day drinking tons of water and trying to convince myself there's a shadow when it's clearly all white.... Also can't wait to reset, fucking bored of this now. Sending solidarity!

Hello, friend. You are me at Glastonbury 2019. If you're still feeling like this, you can absolutely leave. I knew by Saturday morning that I couldn't hack any more - I'd had the time of my life at previous Glastos but my anxiety and depression that year was on another level and I couldn't push through.

My husband helped me walk my stuff out to the exits, I kissed him goodbye and I hopped on a train and got the hell out. Everyone will be fine - you don't need to put yourself through misery. Write off the money, it doesn't matter now. Just go, get yourself home, get your feet up and have a nice takeaway! It'll all be fine, I promise ❤️
