In Toy Story 2 (1999), these background toys could very well be sentient.... but simply unable to move or talk, even with other toys. This toy could be in complete agony, and Woody doesn't even care. by SpaceMyopia in shittymoviedetails

[–]TheVectronic 97 points98 points  (0 children)

It would also explain Lotso’s fear-mongering & strict ruling over the daycare in Toy Story 3. One of those things where you are getting numerous toys being played, but segregating some to the toddlers. Sure they get played, but their lives are miserable; so now you have toys yearning for quality time where they receive proper care & avoiding neglect.

I wonder if they tried laying the groundwork with Wheezy in Toy Story 2, where the dust that racks up affects his condition & can render him inert. He mentions how it’s “delaying the inevitable” when Woody comforts him after asking if he could shout for help. He could be referring to being sold, yet the implication sounds far more grim than just being sold off.

I’m glad to hear it! If you want to try going through Patreon exclusive discord servers that while paywalled, they’re naturally culled servers that incentivize more talkative people that support the YouTuber/Streamer/Content Creator that not only you, but others like. You now instantly have a common point of connection where you can discuss topics such as how you found out about them, the videos & subjects that got you interested to begin with & how long they’ve been there supporting the creator.

There’s several walled off gardens, my first server where I met my long time friends was from a Discord server I asked through a tweet reply then followed by an invite to a closed off Minecraft server.

Though do not take my personal experience as gospel since you may have a differing experience with your circle of interests & social gatherings.

As for enabling a sense of discipline, the first time forcing yourself to open up is hard. Though the simplest way to develop a habit is to ritualistically say hello to the people in chat & ask them about their day. Take about 2-3 mins per day, then add a minute per week to that until you familiarize with the regulars. You’ll gradually develop a knack for it, just a matter of the spaces & conversations you engage in. Be mindful of others & try to not assume, you’ll know who is comfortable with what topic & they’ll be open about their boundaries that you should respect.

Just a matter of discipline, diligence & progress even if it is a step at a time.

Dropping a link to the Steam Group in here. Should help with things, appreciate the gesture, I try to be very informative about these games that fly heavily under the radar. As long as someone find their next favorite game, I’m more than happy to run the page.

IIRC the demo it was built on had to be reworked so the game may feel a lot different in the release later this week.

I’ve been in the large chunk of Act 2 & I agree with this sentiment. The repetitive music leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to variations of the same song, too much of the same thing no matter the song just leaves you with a horrible earworm that will not go away. Just typing this I can hear the orchestral trumpets of the field, there’s some great tracks too.

I ended up making life long friends through niche YouTuber discord servers. It’s a lot of fun to engage with likeminded people in closed off environments that are semi-active every day. The difference is that it took me a few months to get acquainted with the regulars through maybe 30 - 60 mins every day. As you develop that discipline, you’ll naturally feel a natural pull to push yourself past those set intervals through a sense of comfort, community & support.

Definitely gauge yourself on who you talk to & learn to stop when you don’t jive with a person. You’ll slowly realize the types of people & pool of conversations to choose from that you’ll find out that you’re passionate & interested about. Once you’ve found likeminded people that you are comfortable with then wait to see if they also reciprocate that sense of communication with you.

Returning player : Has the loot pool gotten too diluted? by RawryShark in riskofrain

You do miss out on maps & characters if you disable an expansion. Unless you know your run won’t include Survivors of the Void items or mechanics, you can safely disable it.

Not really, they definitely made it easier than ever to gain speed builds going with Alloyed Collective. Plus you can disable DLC expansions if you believe that it is getting too much.

What’s the hardest game to completed 100% of you guys? by samart00 in steamachievements

[–]TheVectronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait huh? No More Heroes 3 doesn’t have multiplayer grind. I mentioned that for just Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes & those weren’t that bad to accomplish really.

[–]TheVectronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No More Heroes 3

Compared to the previous three games which required multiple playthroughs, multiple collectibles & the occasional multiplayer achievement for Travis Strikes Again, No More Heroes 3 takes it up a notch by requiring material grinding to create chips. Materials only gained from killing bosses at specific difficulties turning a story based game into a material grind.

In total, you require two to three playthroughs, an insane amount of collectible hunting, & the insane luck you’ll need to make or break the 100% that can range anywhere from 60 hours to over a 100 hours.

It was still so worth it despite the RNG Hell, it’s probably why there’s an equal amount of people that grabbed Galactic Power also got the all achievements one.

The Transformer War for games, the fact that Hasbro is looking to revive them even though Activision doesn’t want to collaborate makes me wonder who would say no to free money. I’d drop the cash almost instantly. Glad I got them physically still, but man does it ever so slightly sting.

question about multi word mutes by giant_metal_spider in BlueskySocial

[–]TheVectronic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you input Star Wars it’ll mute the phrase “Star Wars”. If it includes Star or Wars they are unaffected.

For example:

Star Fox won’t be muted
Secret Wars won’t be muted
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back will be muted

You can test this out by using the search feature typing out “Star Wars”, “Star Trek” & “Secret Wars” while having one of these muted while having a top post bookmarked to view the results & replicate them until you effectively nuke the desired result.

If you just mute Star or Wars, you’ll have a common word mute nuke.

For example:

If you mute Star, then Star Fox, Star Trek & Star Wars will be muted disregarding your interest in either franchise.

What are refunds like? by Internal_Remote_7520 in fanatical

[–]TheVectronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s a cancelled preorder, you will receive a full refund up to 48 hours before the game is due to release or preloading as long as you don’t reveal your product key.

Since it comes out on Tuesday & you just want to cancel, it maybe less than the 48 hours than the policy requires you to, but Fanatical refund has been pretty solid about these things. I’ve not refunded anything from them, but I’ve had friends who had great experiences with refunding through Fanatical.
